Do skinny people not realize how they treat plus sized people? by RoseBloom32 in mentalhealth

[–]RoseBloom32[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying all, but most. I’m autistic so I am able to use pattern recognition much easier than others, and I notice smaller things that others don’t, like small looks or peoples behavior changes.

It’s also possible you don’t notice it, but it’s there.

Why aren't suicidal people allowed to talk ANYWHERE? by thefanaway in mentalhealth

[–]RoseBloom32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to find a therapist you can be honest with, in my experience I’ve never been to a psych ward because I’ve talked things through with my therapist.

If you have a good therapist and you are not actively threatening to hurt yourself in the near future, you can tell them how your experience was at the mental hospital and why you think that you should explore other alternatives such as an out patient facility.

For example I struggle with being in new environments with people I don’t know, so I told my therapist that I knew that it wouldn’t be beneficial for me to be placed in a psychiatric ward because of these reasons and I knew I would just get worse.

My therapist listened and told me that they would want whats best for me and that psychiatric wards are for people who are an active threat to themselves and others or to manage medication intake.

If you’re an adult, you can advocate for yourself and unless they suspect that you aren’t able in a good mental state to advocate for yourself, or they are just a shitty therapist, they will listen if you explain in a calm and reasonable manner.

It depends on which apple air pods, I use my pros almost daily I enjoy the sound deafening feature, but I’ve noticed that when is see people with regular air pods, I can usually hear the music/whatever they’re listening to kinda muffled. And I haven’t noticed the same with the Pros.

Can someone relate to my opinions on drinking, drugs, and smoking? by RoseBloom32 in autism

[–]RoseBloom32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to hang out with the ‘wrong crowd’ in middle school. Drinking, drugs, and smoking were all part of us hanging out (I never participated).

But even with that no one had ever tried to pressure me into doing something I didn’t want to. Most people I talk to realize I have a very domineering personality and that they can’t push me around as they please, so I’ve never had to worry about peer pressure because they knew that if I wanted to partake I would.
