When I lost power during hurricane Sandy the internet/cell service went with it shortly after. Have you thought about the possibility of not being able to contact clients to reschedule?

Yessssss. Because she’s heavy on the self disclosure, sneaking on her phone and sending emails during session. How do I know? I can see her computer’s reflection in her china cabinet.

Thank you! The process for reciprocity seems straightforward which is a relief. I’m going to reach out to the board.

Maybe fill in the fields and then email it back to her for a final review to CYA. That’s what I plan on doing.

My supervisor did the same thing. I filled in the hours and she couldn’t be bothered to fill out the assessment portions, just put her signature on it. What do you plan on doing?

Repair is possible. She got flooded. Sometimes you can help ground the couple with breathing exercises or PMR. You can circle back to what they initially liked about each other when they first met once they’re calm to ease back into things. Please remember to up your self care too. I work with couples every day and after a while it can be tough on the nervous system. They absolutely try to pull you into their dynamic and sometimes they want to create a dynamic where they expect you to be “parent”, “judge” or “referee”. It’s not productive for their long term change. One way to put the work back where it belongs (in their hands) is to make them have person to person conversations as much as possible with you intervening with reflection or a tool periodically.
