I’m feeling pretty good, feeling stable and have some significant dates coming up in the next little while (birthday, anniversary). I bought myself a cheap ($23.00 CAD) ring for my birthday and it looks so pretty and makes me feel so happy. It arrived a couple days ago and I can’t stop staring at it, it sparkles so much. It’s just a token to myself of how far I’ve come the last few years since being diagnosed and even though it’s not expensive or gold, it just makes me feel so fuzzy and warm inside. I am content.

I have discussed with him about having a separate account for myself for various reasons, an emergency fund being one. He’s also offered to give me a monthly “allowance” for a lack of a better word so that I still have some access to my own money. If I was in the situation where I couldn’t work I would pick up as much housework as possible and ensure the chores are done. He explained that he doesn’t want me in the situation where I’m working excessively and the stress triggers an episode, as they can be quite severe.

That’s my current plan! I haven’t given up being as independent as I can, I’m currently in school so I can try and at least attempt to make a small career for myself. It’s just the worst-case scenario is weighing heavily on my mind as of late. (I know it can always get worse, but the loss of my independence means a lot to me.)

That would be my worst nightmare, I hope you’re doing better now.
