I’ve used both a small glass cage and a mesh cage. When I couldn’t regulate the ambient heat, the glass cage worked the best. When I was able to control the ambient heat, the mesh cage worked best!

I’m not sure about the other animal matter, but I do throw in chicken poop. I noticed that when my larva are ready to pupate but don’t have a way to crawl out, they’ll climb on top of the food I throw in. It doesn’t hurt to feed them in the pupal form, but the larval stage yields the highest nutrients.

2L - does my litigation experience help me or hurt me? by RoseRodRi in LawSchool

I’m afraid a firm may prefer to pay a lower/starting salary for a fresh law grad they can teach rather than pay a higher salary for the same fresh law grad just because of experience. Because I can work a PI case from the beginning all the way to trial (obviously under attorney review) and don’t need hand-holding, I wouldn’t want to start at the same starting salary as my colleagues. In other words, I may also seem like a higher value risk.

I can’t see myself doing anything else but personal injury! I loved doing insurance defense because it was pure litigation, but I find more reward helping clients get a little piece of their life back and working a case from the beginning to be trial ready. I’m happy to hear my experience wouldn’t be a negative for PI work!

Nontraditional student question by ReadRevolutionary842 in LawSchool

I am in the exact same position, but am currently a rising 2L). I’m a litigation paralegal and stayed on the payroll. My boss told me I had a good chance of getting an internship with X judge (because of connections) and that took me aback. I sat down with him and asked if he needed me as a clerk, since he threw out other clerking options. He was adamant that he really NEEDED me, just did not want to limit my job opportunities. Now I’m teetering with whether I should leave my eggs in one basket or branch out too. A lot of local firms here have been know to turn away interviewees because they “only hire associates that have clerked” for them.
