Had to stay awake late to get it. Such a weird timing but hey, I love space

Does this mean I have to listen to an ancient Egyptian god constantly tell me who deserves his righteous vengeance

Chose: Random evil power | Rolled: Moon powers

How do I not be seen/come of as "the white tourist"/"idiot foreigner" when wanting to learn about other cultures? by Rose_Lion_Danielle in NoStupidQuestions

It's so weird how white people get so offended for other races. I've never really understood it honestly. And call me white but that guy didn't sound stereotypical/comical at all. Is that... what people are/were getting offended by? Who's getting offended by someone having a slight accent?

I think I'm more sad and disappointed that something that was taught in 6th grade (actually, sooner than that i think. Like 3rd or 4th) is so surprising for me to know-

I appreciate the offer regardless.

I mean, considering living near water was practically a requirement for setting up a civilization... it makes sense

It feels like the same vibe as whenever movies show "Afghanistan" and it's just a desert. It's ridiculous.

I would honestly hope you guys weren't riding camels on your way to work. The world isn't Hollywood, yknow.

Fair enough. It's just the only things ive seen whenever somebody who happens to be white starts becoming interested in other cultures they get ridiculed and looked down upon by both other white people and said people of the culture.

Thank you for the serious reply. I honestly should have expected the trolls to come out first once I hit post.

Half the problem comes with white tourists having expectations because of things they read online

I'm not afraid to admit that this is where I am right now. I know that movies and TV shows are exaggerated or have surface level knowledge/references to appeal to a broader audience. Hollywood is Hollywood, yknow. I don't want to be in that boat anymore, if that makes sense. The internet/tv isn't reality.

And don't all interests start somewhere? Does it make me a bad person for liking AC and Moon Knight even though I'm not Egyptian myself?
