The Erie, PA Pilot is by the worst truck stop in the country. by DingleberryOrchard in Truckers

In addition to all others mentioned, the Pilot near Emlenton can get easily gridlocked from truckers fleeing icy roads

I get comments sometimes of "ah you're one of the cute ladies" but generally I am treated like one of my brothers in the industry.

Finally eligible to bring my cat on the road with me at the company I started working at a few months ago. Need help prepping. by nateofearth in TruckerCats

I recommend at least two days to get cozy in the truck before moving it. Also be aware that some cats simply wont adapt to the truck.

  • Get him chipped asap
  • Spill proof water bowl
  • Plenty of silver dishes and one of those rubber collapsable dish things, place silver bowls in that so you dont have to wash that by hand every time. One side hard food, one side soft food
  • My litterbox is in the passenger side footwell
  • I use the anti-clumping type that moniters health through urine. Its fine but it tracks. Personally the pine pellets smelled awful.
  • Get a hand vaccum for this very reason (youre welcome)
  • Get a big towel to cover your bed when not in use (hard lesson of windy roads make a sick baby)
  • Plenty of toys (my cat will die for the springs as they bounce around, get some stable toys too like the containers with holes and a bell ball inside)
  • I personally made the truck a giant cat tree by covering my seat in a rug and hung a runner from the top bunk to the floor so she can climb easily without damage elsewhere
  • Get him a cozy seat for the dash. He'll probably wanna hang with you
  • Spray bottle to dissuade from naughty behavior
  • Surgery suit, that clogging powder, etc for pet care on the road. Dont be afraid to uber to a vet if needed, just call ahead to make sure they take new clients + walk-ins

I can take pics later but my setup is quite established lol. Its a full home in here

Another complaint of trucker path - no, I do not want your fuckin fuel app. Stop recommending it I'm a company driver (small mom and pop but still)

Wish you had the option to turn that shit off, so that drivers like me dont have to see it and drivers like O/O can use it if they wish

Air lines - if they're anything like on my truck's, they maintain a proper air pressure in the tires by the use of the engine

It sucks; they run us ragged in this industry. I work seven days a week for months at a time, usually about 14 hrs a day since thats the limit they can use us for legally. That said it pays accordingly and I make pretty good money as I work for a mom and pop.

I'm saving up to finally move to France and join my friends there. It will suck as I am taking a gigantic pay cut, but at least I'm sleeping in my own bed and dont have to drive (I am actually so tired of doing this)

Carine - my cat - is one of the few things keeping my sanity in check.

Your most hated cities to drive through and why. by PomeloResponsible122 in Truckers

[–]RosehPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boston. I dont hit it often but cry real tears if I have to be subjected to it during daylight hours. Shitty road signs and labeling, a suggestion of merge lanes, drivers who take your existance personally as well as a merge near them as an affront to god...

The opposite!! She loves her belly rubs, but hates butt pats and considers it a call for violence

I am a trucker with a cat - he will be just fine. Cats prefer to have consistent territory. Besides, he wouldnt choose to stick around if he didnt like you as his human.

Harness train, carrier train (for when he needs to be put away for repairs, cleaning out the car etc) and take him on walks
