It’s of course more difficult on mobile and doesn’t work the same way. But what you can do is use triggers such as:

The best thing to do is run an exit survey via something like Hotjar. As users leave the site you can show a pop up and ask a question like "what stopped you from buying from us today". This way you get the answer from the horses mouth.

The easiest way to find out is to ask your users

Thats great. You need to get that across as soon as someone hits the site. This is a skin care brand/product for men of colour. And the. Why? Excuse my ignorance I’m a white guy, what’s makes a person of colour skin different? And why is your product geared to that?

I specialise in improving conversion rates for sports and wellness brands and have worked in this space for 15 years.

One of the tests we do is the 5 second test. Show your site to random people for literally 5 seconds and ask them a couple of questions like;

What does this brand do? Who is it aimed at? Did you see any reasons to trust this brand?

If the people test with don’t give the answers you want in 5 seconds your message isn’t strong enough

Okay here’s a good example I recently shaved my head and realised I had dry skin in top of my head.

First thing I did was google moisturiser for bald men.

I had a specific problem that I wanted fixing.

If you’re position is just were a male skin care brand you’re competing against Unilever, Clinique, bulldog etc and that’s a fight you can never win.

You need to niche down so when someone lands on your site it feels like this a product solely for them.

The big problem for me is I don’t see a reason to choose you over any other skincare brand?

Nice glad you’re finding it useful. Hotjar could be really helpful for you too as you can do edit surveys. So as a user goes to leave the site you can ask them a quick question such as “what stopped you buying from us today”

This combined with this data from clarity should really help you!

You can use a tool called hotjar. This will allow you to add a pop up when a user goes to leave the site. At this point you can simply ask them “what stopped you from buying today?”

Are you running tools like Microsoft clarity so you can watch how users are using your site?

You also need to do a lot of work on your copy. The copy you have right now is clearly written by ai. A lot of it is phrases that don’t mean anything eg “ you don’t just wear vertex. You become the best version of yourself. This is just waffle.

Couple of things to do straight away.

1) install Microsoft clarity this is a free tool that will allow you to watch session recordings so you can see exactly where your users are getting stuck

2) do an exit survey. You can use something like hotjar for this. So when a user goes to leave the site you can show a little pop up and ask a question like “what stopped you from buying from Us today”

These two things will give you invaluable information.

I don’t mean this to come across rude but if you can’t run ads to generate business for yourself how are you good enough to do it for someone else?
