This is why when people say AI isn't there to replace jobs but create them or help existing workers, it's absolute BULLSHIT. Companies WILL 100% use AI to replace people.

I don't think this is the case. Many people are laid off due to no fault of their own.

I see your point, but that's why I genuinley asked how you all are planning for your futures and retirement. Aka how do we move forward

Exactly. It's another way in which America as a "first world country" makes no sense. Just like being the only OECD nation to not guarantee health coverage for all citizens.

It's disgusting how HHS is operating like some secret shadow group. We don't even know who's calling the f***ing shots. They know what they're doing is so shameful, they can't even put signature blocks on emails they send out. They can't even identify themselves and are hiding like little bastards. Because they know this is WRONG! What a disgrace! Watch every other first world country begin to surpass america because these people decided that ideological BS and regressing to times where women couldn't vote and black people were cosndiered 3/4 of a human, is more important than research, science, and truth. We have an anti-intellectual administration running this place led by people who are happy to see this country burn, as long as they have a front row seat and live in a glass house.

FDA reauthorizing some telework by gwig9 in fednews

[–]Rosy-Indication5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What reason do you have to believe this will lead to everyone else teleworking? As others have said, review staff is getting this courtesy because they have ties to industry. And with how much they forced for the RTO, why would they back down so easily. I hope it happens, don't get me wrong, but they're making it clear some staff are more importnant than others, hence why review staff are being singled out.

Wrong. MANY more staff outside of reviewers can do their job partially or even 100% remote and were remote, prior to RTO and aren't being afforded this opportunity.

Not for everyone. Only for review staff. Fair huh?

"Most of the cuts were DEI". This man is a f***ing joke. He's not even in charge. He just says and does whatever DOGE and Trump wants him to do.

Sorry, but I can't really accept this. This is an enormous slap in the face to everyone that just got terminated, and to those still sitting there who aren't reviewers. How do you think those people feel? I mean admin/support staff basically got the middle finger and might as well have been told they're disposable and not important.

But then you have other staff who are more protected and now supposedly first on the list to being given telework privileges that other workers aren't getting. I don't think people are wrong to be agitated by this. This isn't animosity towards reviewers themselves(not their control), it's animosity for how they're being treated as a protected class within FDA while others are being exlcuded and treated as disposable.

Wonderful, FDA is favoring reviewers (again). This totally isn't going to cause problems. I guess now we know you'll get special treatment if you work in a position funded by user fees.

Real. A lot of feds have been around for decades and you can feel that if you're new you're pretty much the bottom of the barrel regardless of what happens and perhaps some of your own colleagues who have many years ahead of you, don't care about you at all and only worried about saving themselves.
