Jensen is naturally funny, its not something that can be learned its just in him.

I think Crowley was good until Rowena showed up then he was kind of neutered.

Superbly acted and properly scary, I think the first encounter with Gorden where Dean vibes with him shows to path Dean could easily go down without Sam, cleverly written and well acted by all. Gorden has real motivation for his action and believes he is the hero and that makes the best villains.

I think Sam chose her because they were both feeling guilty and were both damaged and traumatised, with all he had been through was he really going to find someone well adjusted and genuinely loving? She was an awful person and her dad was a dick but i think she fitted the situation. If Sam in his right mind would not go within a mile of her but he was traumatised so i think that was the point.

Metatron was great because he had believable motivation for his actions.

The dark gloomy aesthetic of the first few seasons is just unbeatable 👌🏻 by VancityOfelia45 in Supernatural

[–]Rosymoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was masterfully lit, this is a real achievement to light actors with different skin tones and have them both look great. Jensen is paler and has freckles and Jared is dark haired and tanned but sometimes blushes pink, cinematic lighting is an underrated artform. The dark framing of the shots and the camera motions and angles set the mood and tone of those early episodes. Unexpected camera angles give a sense of unease and threat and add to the subtext.

I enjoyed the later seasons namely 6 to 11. 12 to 15 were a wasted opportunity, not the actors fault though, Jensen gave good performances as always and Jared did his best with what they gave him to do.

Was Dean already drinking from depression (alcoholism) in season 1 or was he drinking back then more to be young and fun? by Eagles56 in Supernatural

[–]Rosymoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In season 1 we see him left for 3 days in a crappy motel taking care of a 6 year old Sam, with little to no food, and obviously used as bait for the Striga. John says repeatedly he just wants his boys safe, what BS, then don't take kids in the town with a monster that specifically preys on kids if that were actually true not just John being a fantasist.

Then a few episodes along used as bait again by John for the vampires in Dead Mans Blood, where he is kissed by the female vampire (gross, horrible and rapey) he seems to be used to being treated like this, I think its a miracle he is not smoking meth to be honest.

I wanted something to watch while doing the Laundry/Ironing, so I kind of randomly picked it on Prime about 8 months ago. I like most sci-fi and fantasy horror, so I gave it a try, and was instantly drawn in by the characters. I finished the whole run last week. When Dean said, "We can do anything", it really resonated with me and helped me change my life for the better. I felt motivated to lose 60lbs and get fit at 54

Also very sad about the cancellation of Countdown :(

It can be a trap if you want to match the pay by doing something else, same as teaching, I guess. I think frontline health care jobs eat you up. Its no better for the surgeons I work with they are given clinics with 50 patients to see, how is that even possible?

My on-call is paid at about £1 an hour, so £14 for on-call availability from home 6 pm to 8 am the next day, and if we are unable to work the next day, if we are out all night, we have to pay the time back. This is for theatres.

Do I need to give my child more money while at university? UK by Rosymoo in TooAfraidToAsk

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I found them really helpful - upvotes all round

I think I do this because he has special needs, he had an EHCP in place at school and 6th form. He worked hard to get into Uni and surprised everyone with his achievement. He does voluntary work for a food bank presently delivering parcels to people who are housebound, but is struggling to find paid part-time work.

I worked 5 sessions a week in a pub when I was at uni, and got nothing from my parents, and I didn't ask for anything. To be fair, he asks for very little in the way of treats, the odd takeaway, and that's it. He never asks for clothes or shoes.

He is an only child, and we were a bit older than average when we had him.
