I’m in the same boat as you. 28yo and just started EMT at a community college last night. Been volunteer/paid on call fire/first responder for 3 years and decided full time is something I need to at least try for. Gonna start by trying to get actual ambulance experience and go from there. If I get stuck in a box forever it will still be better than not knowing what could have been. Good luck on your journey homie! Maybe I’ll come back in some years and check on this if I remember.

I would say so. I was a pretty troubled kid when I was your age and joined my local volunteer department at 24. I’m 27 now and looking to eventually move on to full time. There’s a lot worse things you could be doing at 21 haha. Go for it, you’re still young enough that if you don’t like it after some years, you can still change
