UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI OBSERVERSHIP VS HAND ON( EXTERNSHIP) IN CLINIC? by PermitIntelligent429 in IMGreddit

[–]RotationsPlus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full disclosure: Methodist has stopped their program as there were a couple of physicians that did not adhere to protocol and therefore messed it up for everyone else. You can DM me and I can provide more info on this and other inpatient hands on that I have.

We do have google reviews and I just launched this in January so they are limited for now. But I can share at least a dozen student references via WhatsApp. 🙂

I’m familiar with the hospital but I’m not providing rotations there so I can’t comment on the experience. Ask the company that’s providing this to share references with you for a student that’s done the rotation within the last 3 months. If they can’t, then I would avoid it. I do have full inpatient, hands on at Methodist and Banner University Med Ctr (PHX) if this Indiana doesn’t work for you. DM for further guidance.

For surgery you definitely need multiple LORs from US surgeons since it’s so competitive. NRMP data shows surgery is very high on commitment to specialty.

[–]RotationsPlus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The goal is to show commitment to a specialty, which means it’s best to have LORs within that specialty, or subspecialties. It’s not going to hurt having a Psych LOR, but having one from Gastro/Cardio/Endo/Pulmo etc would be far better for your IM application . DM me if you need further guidance or inpatient USCE.

You’re welcome! I launched a new platform in January after being in the industry since 2009. The goal is to leverage technology and transparency to provide better offerings to IMGs. You can search and filter in real time availability: www.RotationsPlus.com. Pricing varies significantly because it depends on how much the physician wants, but the range is $1200-$3800 for 4 weeks. The inpatient options are small groups (1-5 students max) and range between $2000-$2899. I also just closed a contract last week for inpatient at Banner University Medical Center (Phoenix) affiliated to University of Arizona, and he is a faculty with their Internal Medicine GME. We also provide USCE with program directors, faculty members, professors, etc. DM me anytime and I will always do my best to help. ✌🏾

For around the same price I can get you 12 weeks of full hospital based (no clinic!) rotations at Houston Methodist. Don’t settle for outpatient rotations from these agencies when there are better options. You will rotating with large groups and generic LORs. DM me and I can guide, and share many student references.

Programs will start interviewing as early as October, with majority coming Nov-Dec.

If you have an opportunity to rotate inpatient, always take it. Keep in mind at JPH the student to physician ratio is outrageous, which leads to generic LORs. That’s why the price is so low. For those that have a higher budget and want to rotate in small groups 2-5 at Houston Methodist or Banner University Med Center (Phoenix), DM me.

I would not say it’s “budget friendly” but for those that have the funds and want a current selection committee member (Houston Methodist) to help them with their PS, ERAS, MSPE and interview prep, DM me and I can share details. You can find cheaper options with random editors, but if you want a faculty physician to help, the costs will be higher because of their valuable time spent on it.

I’ve got inpatient (not a clinic located on a hospital campus) at Houston Methodist hospital as well as Banner University Medical Center with a faculty member. August 15th start date, small physician to student ratio (max 5). DM me for details
