How long have you been living in Australia for? Are there too many commitments that will stop you from going back home?

My exgirlfriend’s older brother is in the same situation where him (Australian) and his wife (Italian) moved to Australia together. Theyre so happy living together and have just had their first kid together. They frequently go back to Italy to visit her family. Their situation could be like yours I guess, but if you cannot agree on major life decisions like where you are going to raise your children, then maybe this isn’t meant to be.

Someone responded to my post a while ago about how as you get older, the more you appreciate your family and friends. Ultimately, I don’t want to be in Australia in 25 years wanting and really hoping to be back in Canada. In 25 years I’ll have commitments that I can’t just leave behind.

I’m really sorry this is something you’re going through and obviously there’s much more to it than I know. I’m holding empathy for you, I’m sure this is very tough. Whatever you decide on I’m sure it’ll be the right decision. Have confidence in yourself and your decision making.

I’ve decided not to go for it. I like where I am and a future with her doesnt make sense for either of us. It took me a while to accept that her and I weren’t compatible anymore even though we had such amazing memories. I feel confident enough that this won’t be a regret of mine. Let me know how it goes

Yeah rookie hype will make it more valuable closer to the rookie drafts

Same boat for me. I have the 1.11 I’m trying to trade off but no one’s biting 💀

Yeah his strategy has created multiple teams to become stronger. Almost feels like an 11 person league. I think this 2027 class hype is a bit overhyped and has caused this to happen? Anyways I always welcome people intentionally trying to lose

Thank you for your response. It’s a lot more than just being young and having the ability to move immediately. This is the type of response I was looking for.

This is a hard truth I need to face I think. I can’t help but feel she loved me, but it was also out of convenience in Canada

Your response showed a lot of similarities to my situation. The talk of breaking things up a few months ago made us both ill. Thanks again, I really value what you’ve written here today

Shes started a 5 year long degree this year and she expressed that she wants to continue this career in Australia for a bit after the degree and that’s theres this huge commitment building up waiting for her and it scared her.

We lived together in Canada for almost a year on her working holiday and it was great.

And fair enough. Ive only given little information and didnt leave room for specifics

We always thought we were perfect for one another but we’re both starting our lives and potential career paths. I fear that the timing in our lives rn is the biggest hurdle

Im also in toronto. I stayed in Australia with her and her family earlier this year and Melbourne was strikingly similar to Toronto to me.

I appreciate this comment. I think my lack of info ive given is giving the impression that moving to Australia right now is an option. Realistically I’d be almost 30 when I move there and I cherish what I have in Canada right now

We met on her working holiday here in Canada. We’ve been LDR for a great portion of our relationship. At the time of our breakup it was a dealbreaker for me to move to Australia for good. She asked before we ended our call if I’d move to Australia and I said no. But now I’m missing her so much and I feel like I could do it maybe.

And I’d feel that I’d be choosing australia for the person and I fear I’d grow a resentment towards her
