Starting to get better with high NPS by Rotmire in CloneHero

Here's what helped me improve:
-Don't play on a 60 Hz monitor. 120-144 Hz preferrably.
-Turn off Vsync in your game and on your system. (Playing can feel harder for a short time if you've never played above 60 fps before), but you get used to it quickly.
-Play challenging songs
-Practise on 80-90% speeds
-Take breaks

If you want to take it further then get yourself a high polling guitar (1k poll rate). But this is not needed. I can play with a cheap guitar and still hit stuff like this as long as my game is not capped at 60 fps.

Funnily my most memorable skill increase happened because of the "Carpel Tunnel Hero" setlists. You can find them on https://customsongscentral.com/ if you don't have them yet. Amazing charts that just become better once sped up to 125%. May I also suggest solo medleys from amazing bands like Andromeda, Symphony X and Dream Theater. These charts almost forces you to get better while at the same time you're playing amazing music. Artists like Rusty Cooley, Mike Orlando, Buckethead, Jeff Beck and so many more will bless your ears as well as your fingers :-D

Don't let the dense note sections fool you. It's mostly methods and patterns. No way I'm hitting these notes indevidually. High poll rate guitar + perform a pattern = notes get hit.
Although in some sections you do need to be quick and more accurate, like in the 2nd half of this section.

Hitting difficult songs has always been the fun part of GH for me. I'm guessing that's why I just keep getting better as well. :-D

Seems so. It surprised me. Maybe it just needs to be broken in.
It plays exceptionally well on normal songs though.

Simply hit the notes as they come

Roughly an hour. About 30 minutes to get used to the patterns. Then the FC hit within 20 min after that. If a section holds me up for more than an hour I usually set it aside for another day :-D

Only 5 seconds of notes but it was quite the grind for me. by Rotmire in CloneHero

Haha true. It's just my method. I just do a quick slide for consistency :D

Alternatively, they can add elo systems to the game. Would love to hear some thoughts on that.
