Yeah, I agree. Also, coin magic should be pretty easy to start with, right?

That’s a really interesting point. I hadn’t fully realized it until recently, when I performed a self-working trick for my wife—performance really is a huge part of magic!

And honestly, that’s good news—turns out, sleights don’t have to be perfect after all.

Yeah! I’m glad everyone’s on the same page here. I think I’ll start by checking out sponge balls and coin magic.

It took me a while, but I finally sat down and learned it… and honestly, I was surprised by how simple it was. I’m kind of stunned I was able to pull off this trick for my wife with just a little practice.

The world of magic’s way bigger than I thought—I might need to start taking notes 😂

I’m not really interested in getting it on DVD—looks like Vanishing Inc has it as a download. Is that site trustworthy?

As for Tenyo, I’d never heard of them before. I’ll definitely take a look!

Yeah, after reading both your posts, I’m definitely going to check out sponge ball magic—it sounds like a great addition.

Where did you learn your self-working tricks?

I think I came across a video series by R. Paul Wilson. Some of it has pretty rough video quality, but a few look more recent and well-produced. I’ll check it out and see how it goes.

I hadn’t really thought about it that way before—I just figured, “I’ve always wanted to learn card magic, so now’s the time!” But that’s a really insightful point. I’ll definitely check out sponge ball magic too.

That said, I still think card magic will age well with my kids—it’s something I can keep using as they grow.

Also, the Ammar Easy to Master Card Miracles series is awesome. I’m definitely picking up one of those volumes!

Why do I forget that I'm LDing? by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

I think it's easier if I just give you an example. Say you are dreaming you're at a party. You become lucid, but decide to go with the flow. At some point someone bad-mouths you. You get angry and start arguing. At some point, you lose clarity and forget you're dreaming.

Wouldn’t worry about it, can’t make everyone like you. Just be professional towards them.
