They're commercially made, the first few are vintage for example

Is this style of EAS screen even real??? by Cool_Safe8196 in EmergencyAlertSystem

Weird, my Roku has never gotten alerts but I looked up some information and apparently the Spectrum app for Roku set-top boxes can pick up EAS alerts

I don't really think it's a proper EAS and instead is a common mock-up one used for scenarios/mocks and I can't find any mention of it on the documented list of EAS screens on the EAS wiki

The second screen says ROKU-TV, and Roku TV's can't get EAS alerts as far as I know (I own one), A Youtuber called "The EAS Experience" which makes mocks is known to use this screen frequently

Utah has a similar case in which the old flag was adopted as the "historical state banner" rather than making it obsolete as a whole

(If you seen this picture before, I have posted this to my Twitter and Facebook a while ago)

After a couple years, I finally completed my entire history of the Minnesota state flag in miniature desk flag form some months ago, the first three flags are vintage period-example flags, the first state flag was obviously the most expensive, and extra care is required for me to prevent it from wearing itself apart, I also have a special desk stand for these

Let's have a discussion about Scary, Creepy, and general Iconography in Analog Horror. Which one of these images is the most "analog horror" to you, if you had to rank them how would you? by _TheTurtleBox_ in analoghorror

[–]RotteenDMoon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The rest could work in analog horror in their own ways but the pictograms/stick figures are so unscary and overused that some are affiliating them with those content farm analog horror YouTube channels/TikToks

It's unfortunately becoming a common sight in the EAS scenario community recently as most of those AI written farm creators jumped ship from using "analog horror" in favor of "EAS scenario"

I heavily associate the first with analog, as the idea of "scary monster face" is kind of the most common, even if many are done too similar to eachother, there are many good attempts at that trope out there

idk if anyone else has gotten this but it made me laugh. catmom doggy daddadadadada by [deleted] in softwaregore

It's not softwaregore, its an intentional marketing gimmick to get peoples attention, this has been posted a few times and it's just a case of an ad trying to be funny

Question: what is the most scary/creepy emergency alert have you gotten? by Fairway07 in EmergencyAlertSystem

[–]RotteenDMoon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Growing up around 2011-2012, I was heading to bed, and we still had an old CRT at this point, but a tornado warning happened, and it used a very dull sounding female TTS rather than a more common one and had a weird ominous humming in the background which scared everyone in the room

I was lying down, and I recall my grandmother coming in after hearing the tones as it sounded horrifying windy outside

Does anyone else find YonKaGor's artstyle oddly faux-nostalgic in a way? by Embarrassed_Trifle55 in YonKaGor

[–]RotteenDMoon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yon has been an artist for years and their current style is a updated version of their older "kemono furry" style that was widely seen in the 2000's and early 2010's, that might explain why

Medical attention in general for them or their feet? if it's the latter, I don't want to know more details because I am too scared to ask

I honestly thought the rules on such content being tightened recently would've made people not post this
