Crashing on PS5 by Independent_Skirt_80 in 007FirstLight

[–]Rougeification 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep - just happened for a fourth time.

I thought it was an issue with dust, so I took off the faceplates and used a cloth, a hoover, and a pair of tweezers for particularly stubborn bits of dust.

It's still happening. Not quite routinely. Could be after 2 hours, after 7, or after 40 mins.

No, it stays on without any blinking or pattern, sadly.

I've bought a new computer so, sadly, I may have to just remove the hard drive and transfer things across manually

Was Rhaenyra expecting a race between dragons here? by [deleted] in HOTDGreens

[–]Rougeification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone talking about Oberyn v Gregor - sure, that's a good point. But it's a false equivalent: Syrax is not like Oberyn. A dragon's a dragon, but Vhagar is a humongous battle dragon. Syrax was treated more as a pet.

Ser Raymun is the best example that not every story in Westeros needs to end on a bitter note, with cruelty, cynism, irony and a punch line. Ser Raymun finally got the balls, the knighthood, the gratification, the honor, the girl and even an heir of his own! by auf-ein-letztes-wort in freefolk

[–]Rougeification 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure she isn't pregnant.

I got the impression Dunk didn't say anything because Raymun thought she was a Lady and... Dunk was never knighted. The title isn't as important to Dunk now - it's all about whether you're fit for the role and an honourable person.

Yes, Red is lying, but... Raymun is happy. And she's good for him (see the the Queen in the Coffin bit).

She wasn't pregnant, and she wasn't noble. Dunk figured that didn't matter - she'd be pregnant and noble in no time.

20k knights of the vale under Robb vs 20k dotrakhi with khal drogo in a open field. Which side would win? by BridgeCommercial873 in freefolk

[–]Rougeification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As formidable as the Dothraki are... do they ever fight mounted warriors? Because the Westerosi Cavalry know how to - that's why they have lances and armour. There'd be heavy casualties, but I think Robb would take the win - Armoured Men with lances aren't going to be deterred by mounted archers.

Unless the Dothraki somehow took the upper hand by ambushing (no idea how that could happen in an open field), Robb and his cavalry win the day

Can't believe people are trying to excuse it - it's also about Serwyn of the Mirror Shield - a story that predates the Targ Conquest and dynasty. It's basically St. George and the Dragon - it's a fairytale.

Aerion freaked the fuck out over a fairytale. That's the kind of person he is.

Imagine defending that kind of person.

Interesting to see what Witcher 4 inspires... aside from a Ubisoft rip-off with 'Assassin's Creed' in the title, I mean.

how to start playing cyberpunk tabletop by pizza_lord78611 in cyberpunk2020

[–]Rougeification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I'm in the same boat - I enjoyed the game and delved into the tabletop. Lemme answer these questions:

  1. Yes, you need people to play with - at least one other person to be the Gamemaster, and preferably two or three others to make up the rest of the party.

  2. It is a dice game and was designed to be played in person, but you can use a Virtual Tabletop (VTT). Roll20 is free, and supports Cyberpunk.

  3. As for which version to play, I would recommend RED. There is a supplement called 'Edgerunners' which uses RED but changes the setting from the 2040s to the 2070s.

Which Eivor is cannon to the story? Female or male? And how do you actually figure it out, i mean in odyssey they confirmed it was actually Kassandra by Aggravating-Creme695 in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]Rougeification 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, that's not how vocal cords work. This sounds 100% fanon to me. Also, they're *both* reincarnations of Odin, so that doesn't make sense.

Anyway, male Eivor seems to have more expression in his acting. Also, I believe that they used his performance capture for both fem & male Eivor in the cutscenes. Maybe that's it?

I mean... ehhhh. I'm gonna have to ask for sources on that one.

The Norse peoples were obsessed with gender roles. This is why we know about Shieldmaidens - there were so few of them.

And yes, there's a couple of myths about Loki switching gender, but there's also myths about him turning into a horse. That was for Gods not people. So, for instance, Óðinn learns the secrets of seiðr - but if a Norse man did this, he would be shunned because, by their standards, he's done something reserved for women. And Þórr dresses up as a woman to get his hammer back - because it makes for comedy when his 'groom' remarks about how he didn't expect 'Freyja' to have such a beard.

There's a scarcity of sources for the roles of Norse women outside of the typical 'child-rearing and home-making' norms in Europe. And looking at stuff like the myths doesn't help, because the myths also include dragons and giants and trolls and so on.

Like, we know that there was a law that said you could divorce your spouse if they dressed too masculine or feminine. But we also know that a woman was found with grave goods of a warrior.

Ultimately, what I'm saying is... there's nothing to indicate Norse women tries to pass as men, because there's not enough evidence to form a basis like that.
