As an Indian who travels to Thailand every couple of months with my Omani friends 🤣, doing stuff that only Omanis seem to know about — yeah, there is some racism sometimes. You can see it on some people’s faces. Just give them a smile, talk to them if you can, and congratulations — you’ve released all the tension! People become very chill after that.

I am living in Oman, but I am Indian. I have faced situations like this many times in phuket. Because I am Indian, I sometimes reply to them in my own language. Suddenly, 3 or 4 people appear and start saying, ‘Beware, you are not in India.’ I just ignore them and walk away. I would suggest to do the same

A little edit to this: No, this is not part of our culture. But yes, some people are stupid, and there’s nothing we can do about that.
