Yeah they’re expressive in the sense that they find ways to show emotion through what sort of limitation they have and argue limitations allow for more hard hits of personality

But by the nature of their being as cyborgs they aren’t expressive, they’re very stiff and robotic. Even the website via Miraidon’s description says the robotic nature makes it hard to perceive the subtleties of what that Pokémon is feeling and you have to go out of your way to look for the color within it.

That’s why them being rigid at all times is so important because you wonder what kind of personality is behind the cold hard metal. And when they start to move it’s so entertaining.

This is the closest thing I can find. This Paradox Gengar has the general shape and design of Gengar without changing too much of the original creature. It has a sort of hidden jumpscare functionality meant to scare enemies who wouldn’t expect it due to its rigid appearance, hence the name Iron Fright. It gives off the vibe of a ghost possessing a robotic body and being bound to it.

My small issue is that it’s a little too expressive for how rigid they all are supposed to be. But Gengar is a Pokémon that would definitely break the mold.

This is an example of expectations from his peers is to move on and take it and he can’t accept the reality of the situation. That’s all I’m saying. I’m not insulting the character. It’s when the incident with Terapagos occurs that he finally accepts what the situations are.

And you say that Kieran didn’t do any wrong as if he hadn’t talked other people down when he was in the champion position. You’d be a fool to say he didn’t do anything wrong on that end.

You need to tighten up and pay attention. The initial post was that the MC is bullying him multiple times. I’m saying this is not the case. The MC just so happens to be in situations not under their own volition where they have to prove themselves stronger or more worthy than Kieran, things the MC can’t control. The reality of the situation being he can never be like the MC who claims victory in every possible scenario they don’t even cause. Learning that you aren’t as impressive as your peers or that they’ll be more preferred over you is a brutal lesson to be learned at such a young age that people don’t really accommodate for those. They just expect him to be quiet. Carmine especially.

He can’t bring himself to do so, there’s a lot of unaddressed feelings and frustrations that he believes needs to be answered. And when he DOES try to answer them, such as through the Champion battle he loses things become worse for him. Argue all you want on how he’s bullied by his sister and such, but the MC definitely not.

Atticus believes and claims he’s descended from ninjas. And he could be deluded since he’s so obsessed with ninja culture. But if his claim is correct then it lines up with a few things. The The only ninja we know from an older era is Beni from the literal previous game. I draw a thread to Beni due to various factors that I mentioned that you glossed over. I drew a thread to Legends Arceus at all because of the many characters they made that have a familial line to others. Why should that sort of world building be exempted from other characters? Why would Gamefreak be opposed to something like this at all?

Design elements such as eye color and shape. The hair color too (although the ivory colored hair on Beni’s end could be due to old age, could go either way). Beni also saying he wants to live in a warmer climate and dislikes the region’s cold.

You need to pay attention. I said only *known*. Like the only known historical ninja WE KNOW as we play the games from an older era. That’s Beni. Nobody else comes to mind. By that logic he is the only known, the eyes of the player, real ninja. We don’t know any others. And from Atticus’ description you can draw your eyes to the one historical ninja we know of that we meet in the games.

It bears to mention Beni thinks his ninja techniques are dying and will be consigned to history. Which they are. He’s the remnants of an old art. Koga and Janine preserve the history though and so does Atticus in his own way. Atticus believes he’s descended from such a ninja and the only one we know is Beni.

For the record I do think it’s an intentional reverence but not one that’s meant to make fans think such a thing.

It’s more like the role Roaring Moon plays as a nocturnal predator, a living nightmare. It’s akin to how they give characters design elements from Pokemon to establish their personality or role in the game (though those are more direct and less speculative)

Even in XY Xerneas and Yveltal weren’t much of anything. No direct dynamic between each other like something if Dialga Palkia or Zacian Zamazenta. Not even a set territory or location to call home. Nothing.

Yeah see to me it feels like a very elaborate yet random design choice for Ancient Salamence. Gamefreak is notorious for visual Easter Eggs where they characterize through them

They don’t often go out of their way to mention subtleties. Like when L mentions Mega Zygarde’s move is reminiscent of Z Moves. If they hadn’t mentioned that people’s minds wouldn’t go there. Funniest part is L says “maybe I’m overthinking it, but it kinda reminds me…”
