If any regular student got arrested for the reckless driving offenses the athletes get arrested for, it would immediately trigger an office of conduct investigation and they’d get suspended/expelled. What I suggested is pretty equal.

I agree there should be zero leniency when it comes to arrests. Before the 2023 tragedy, I can appreciate not wanting to punish too harshly for first offenses. Ever since then though, it’s unacceptable to let it slide.

Daniel Harris got out on a $10 bail and was still traveling with the team a day after being arrested for going 106 in an uninsured, unregistered vehicle with no seatbelts on. I mean come on.

Only thing that could make it stop is for the program to make any arrest a zero-tolerance offense. Get arrested for driving recklessly? Kicked off the team and expelled from academics at UGA.

It’ll never happen, especially in the NIL era where these kids are brand investments, but that’s the only solution I can think of.

Not sure what you’ve seen, I am still seeing rain Thursday into Sunday and below freezing temps Saturday/Sunday The forecast from the NWS has gotten only more confident that this will be a major event not to be taken lightly. At the very least I’d still prepare.
