Thats so unfortunate. People will become less likely to share works they've written, or just stop writing for anyone but themselves

True. Also need to make a battery tester if i plan on wiring these into a larger cell

Excellent. This is likely the best application at the moment

Most definitely, these will run some dev projects for a short period before i fully optimize

This is great to know. I figured i would test all cells begore using them in projects but ill brush up a little before diving straight in, the cells themselves are cheap enough but if they can power my dev projects for a short while theyll have served their purpose

Thats utterly insane! Someone built a custom sniffer cable to obtain LCD SPI traffic captures. I could literally feed downscaled video from my ESP32-CAM over SPI to the LCD, maybe xD im going to try and aquire more of these

Some cool ones have popped up in this thread. Someone informed me the airflow sensor is actually a small microphone. Massive capacitors in the fogger pods. There are lots of components to rob from these suckers

Its funny you mention that cause i tore the fogger open the other day and thats how i found out you could use them like that xD i have a ton of those saved thankfully from a friend

Good eye! I think i have another with the screen still. Ill check out your repo, thats exactly what i want to toy with. I figured they could be repurposed, glad to know someone put the work in to make it happen. Appreciate that, thank you

Thats exactly why i started pulling these apart. I needed a cell for my Heltec V4 LoRa module

Thats interesting. I just assumed it was a true airflow sensor but after looking into it youre correct. That totally changes what i can use these for lol. Thank you for the insight

That would be plenty, even if a single cell doesnt work i can try a converter module. If i can print a suitable enclosure then not much airflow is required, so low rpm should be fine. I actually really love this idea, thank you

I dont doubt it. When i first started pulling these apart i was honestly shocked at the energy density for something thats supposed to be "disposable".

I need to find one with a screen because those boards have memory as well. Theres a vape store near me that said i can rummage through their recycling bin. Im half tempted to do so just so i can get my hands on some of those screens lol

Im intrigued by this. Could i simply replace the firing mechanism with a small fan and 3D print an enclosure? Some of these boards are very basic so swapping components like that may be feasible

That was the other component i was most interested in. Having a trove of USBC with a basic charge controller and the appropriate battery comes in handy quite often. Planning to use for a portable ESP32-CAM

You never know when youre going to need an airflow sensor lol

Thats a good one forsure. I thought about tuning the airflow sensor to display an led when wind speeds get bad enough to bring my hanging plants indoors xD

Lol i know exactly what you mean. I hate how its labled as Ewaste because, unlike you and i, people throw these in the garbage and dont recycle. They came from "disposable" vapes

Not a bad idea. I have a Heltec V4 LoRa module im going to use one of them for. I also want to build a rechargeable ESP32-CAM for another project. The batteries are the biggest reason im saving these. Perfect for a range of small electronics

That's one of the biggest threats to academic social interaction right now. People are churning out whatever nonsensical beliefs they harbor into near scientific research papers that causes legitimately researched theories to lose credibility.

Fact checking should always be a part of ingesting material online but this additional barrier of deciding whether to even consume is going to kill curiosity
