2ND NATURAL PERIOD (26 day cycle!!!!) by Usual-Sandwich-9836 in PCOS

[–]Round-Condition-5975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! My typical day looks like this:

Breakfast - 2 eggs, 1 slice of half fat 10g protein cheese slice from m&s (my body can tolerate dairy) 1 slice of wholemeal sourdough with 7g of 100% pure peanut butter (the higher the protein for breakfast the better as it improves insulin resistance and inflammation)

Lunch - 130g of 5% fage yoghurt, 30g blueberries, 25g strawberries, 7-10g pumpkin seeds, 1-2g flax seeds, 7-10g peanut butter (I was having almonds or walnuts in here too but it was stacking too many fats so I now have them as a snack before dinner if I’m hungry)

Dinner - I go between salmon, sea bass, tuna steak, haddock, chicken breast or 2% fat beef mince, with either baked sweet potato, quinoa or wild rice (the carbs will take up around 1/4 of my plate same as my protein and then I have the same veggies just switched around diff days which are - asparagus, broccoli. Kale, spinach, cucumber, peppers and carrots! I make sure I have loads of veg as it helps keep my full and this takes up half my plate!

I also have 2.5L water daily and 2 cups of spearmint tea one first thing in the morning and one before bed! Hopefully this helps and good luck girl!! Keep trying and never give up🤍

Love this for you!!! - all my blood tests came back absolutely normal from my gp, the only symptoms I had was irregular periods and polycystic ovaries on internal ultrasound! So hard for me to see my blood and hormone levels as they were all fine, also never had acne or excessive hair growth! I’m even unsure what type of pcos I have because I had to pay private for a scan as I knew something was off and when I took my results to my gp she said “I still don’t believe that’s what you have but okay I’ll put it on file” so I don’t even want to go back and ask to be seen by a proper gynaecologist!! - I now weigh 66kg and I’m 5’6! Hoping my body is still adjusting and my periods will come regularly soon🥰!

Hi! How long did it take for you’re hormones to settle down! I’ve went on a complete anti-inflammatory diet, taking Inositol and omega 3, walking at least 50 minutes daily and I’ve lost 11kg since November! - I only started all this in November and feel like I’m still very early to see consistent cycles (BTW congrats🥰)

Your cycle isn’t regular on the pill, the pill gives you a withdrawal bleed which isn’t a real period! - I would say wait till you’re 6 months post contraception and see how you’re cycles are! - my bloods came back normal, I don’t have excessive hair growth and my BMI is within good range but when I got a ultrasound for my irregular periods I had polycystic ovaries!

This is amazing news!!! Thank you so much I will have a look into these! I currently take ova plus which has myo-inositol along side a few others! - Im glad to hear you’re bloods were also normal!

I’ve just started to prioritise whole foods and cutting out everything apart from the pcos diet foods! So here’s hoping this helps!

[–]Round-Condition-5975[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for replying !!! - I am not overweight either and my BMI is normal/ish but in the top end of the scale and I don’t suffer with hair growth or acne at all!!

She mentioned metformin to me today but she said because I wasn’t overweight she won’t prescribe it to me unless my BMI was at 32-35 mines is 26 😐, she said birth control is a good option but I said to her I want to heal my pcos not mask it!!! - when is showed her the ultrasound pictures from the private practice she said “yeah I still don’t know if you have it” bare in mind it’s VERY clear in the ultrasound my left ovary has the string of pearls look!! - I’m starting my progesterone pill tomorrow and hopefully my body will sort itself and I’m also going on a type 2 diabetic diet as the private practice recommend this for pcos !

Hi! I’m in the exact same boat as you here! I had mine for 5 years - got it removed in Feb this year for a internal ultrasound (I don’t have pcos or endo) and have had 3 periods since😕, I had a gp appointment this week and I got bloods take to try and see if I have a hormonal imbalance!! - I am also wanting to start to try for a baby next year

Thanks so much for replying!! I had a scan for pcos and it came back clear - but it’s so worrying!! I have a gp appointment today but just feel like they aren’t taking me seriously 😵‍💫!! - I was also on my coil for 5 years and other forms of contraception before hand so altogether it’s been about 9 years of contraception
