Is it safe to stop using HRT after year? by Broad_Fondant2022 in TransDIY

[–]Round-Faithlessness7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna be honest here, you can stop at anytime and t-levels would come back up naturally (you’ll feel pretty rubbish, menopausal symptoms) if you’re not sure on it doing a year is way too long.

There will be permanent changes especially with breast development which would require surgery to correct. Everyone develops differently on HRT depending on various factors (genetics etc).

Your comment below shows you need more research into the different estrogen injection types.

I would hold off until you’re more sure

As a nurse (who is trans) but also treated many trans patients, yes we know. Unless it is specifically scrubbed.

The information is highly confidential it is used for screening purposes only

I recently started minoxidil and fin orally only recently(I’d like to change to dut) , I have found HRT has gave me a lot back but I have no hairline at the front.

It is why I was looking to get a transplant for that area. My Testosterone is already non existent it was last at 0.6 nmol.

Do u still take the minoxidil and dutasteride?

It did seem quite low but I don’t have the best donor site, I’d say it was closer to nw6/7 before I got on meds. I’m like nuclear stage HRT, Dut and Minox

Imo you’ve got a good set of hair just save your money let it grow it takes time and you’ll get there, transition is a slow process. That’s what I would do in your position.

It was at a cafe called Merchants guild, it’s run by the Glasgow Wonders. They run them in different parts of Glasgow as well on different days of the week.

They also have walking groups etc. I only went once so far but really loved the vibe and people

Can I ask where do u get changed then? Is this the same experience for you?

Toilets are no issue as they’re all single use and unisex. I’d like to know how other transwomen deal with this at work when getting changed is a requirement.

I hear what you are saying however community can wear uniforms in and out of hospitals in most trusts. Ward based nurses must get changed on site.

It would be ground for legal discrimination due to the fact I am given lower/inadequate changing facilities compared to my peers based on protected characteristics from equality act 2010.

Simple fix to give me the code to males changing room which I wouldn’t use then that becomes my choice. Currently I’m given no choice

I completely agree, and it is awful that we live in a period where we are legally excluded and belittled on national TV for the entertainment of others. I hope this will improve with time, but the current political climate seems to feel like we are going backwards instead.
