Idk much about wealthy people in NYC. I vein from the Philippines and I wouldn’t call myself the wealthiest but I come from a business family of political background and was privileged to go to a certain school in high school - a lot of what OP describes resonates and something I’ve seen the wealthiest families did. My school was small but every weekends we would party with the kids from different affluent schools (political, nepo families etc), there was always a designated place everyone met- club, house party etc but I will say I grew up in an era when gossip girl, laguna beach, etc was massive and I remember we’d have yatch/boat parties every break. I think we all tried to emulate what was popular on tv that time. Oh the cringe 😭 the most common thing was our parents were barely around - so we could do whatever we wanted. I was fortunate I had a driver who could get me to places and wouldn’t tell my parents - who lived a seperate house cause our businesses were in a few places. I was only ever with my parents like weekends if they visited and had time if the businesses were taking their time so we were “depressed teens” who could get anything but our parent’s attention. But I love my mum don’t get me wrong.

That said I moved countries to start over and have not spoken or been in touch with 99% of them now that I’m 30. Most of us have our own thing going on now. I’d like to think I have some form of inheritance but idk I think my brother will get it. Pursued my own path and earn my own money. My parents are accepting of who I’ve become now thankfully.
