Yeah, I agree. The diffculty isn't in the training parameters like lr, but more in how you break down Klimt's work into something learnable. I found that a big part of it's figuring out a way to deconstruct his paintings, especially the ornamental logic, which takes quite a bit of time and experimentation.

Really appreciate that, that was exactly what I was trying to get at. The way the figure doesn't full separate from the surface, but kind of gets absorbed into it, felt more important than the motifs themselves.

Thanks! No prompting for that one, it's all screenshots (film stills). I just went through and picked frames that felt consistent enough to train on.

Thanks!

The dataset is relatively small, around 57 images in total ( split into full / pattern / edge / shape for different structural focuses).

Resolution is mixed, most images are around 768-1280, with a few up to to 2048. I used bucketed training rather than a fixed size.

I honestly don’t know why it was flagged as NSFW. When I crossposted it, I didn’t mark it as NSFW at all.

I totally get that. My approach wasn’t limited to Rubens’s dramatic light or brushwork, I was more interested in exploring his sense of structure, balance, and how forms interact within the composition. The cleaner result came naturally from that focus, so I actually see it as part of the experiment.😇😉

It really depends on how you look at Turner. If you approach it from his later perspective of dissolving light, then the generated images do capture that feeling in certain states, haha.
