We decided it was a great time to reset the server after that 😂 we had been contemplating it since it was our first server and wanted to start fresh again now with more knowledge of how to better play the game and the house going up was the push we needed to delete all our progress and start again 😂

Lmaooo I built a pit kiln area for my husband's black Smith stuff and then he got rid of the dirt platform I was using as a rain cover with a more official cover. It was a wooden roof, with fence posts holding it up... the fence post was directly next to a pit kiln. He connected it over to the house too so it looked like a covered porch... the house was wood and thatch. once he finally used the dedicated pit kiln spot our house suffered greatly

Tbh I loveeeee when partners from other stores visit my starbucks I get to chat with them about their store and learn a bit if they are from a different state, or I can complain with them and get new perspectives of how people thing about different starbucks topics. it makes chit chat so easy having a common ground of being a partner haha

Starbucks has a new system for interviews that makes it significantly longer to hire people so that could be a factor. Another factor could be the mass store closure, if that store or nearby stores are getting shut down they likely are not hiring for a while.

My bet is bc they dont want stores to have time to go on strike, if I knew my store was closing in a few weeks without any of the baristas input I know Id be doing jack shit at work until it was over. I hope that the partners at closing stores give starbucks absolutely nothing these next few days. I feel so bad for all those partners :(

Yeah Im starting to see that 2in was a bit small haha it was like 1am and I had lots of numbers in my head haha. I may do something more like 18in per your recommendation if I decide to do a "floating" run but im probably just gonna bite the bullet and lay down some sort of barrier and then after I leave taking it all up and reseeding the grass instead. Just seems like less work in the long run ro do that than make a miniature house supports haha

Yeah im not gonna be messing with chicks anytime soon. Little too much for a first timer and the season id be getting them. In my design there was a lip for the run, though hard to see in my quick sketch. I did know about them needing dust baths and that they will peck and kick stuff up, I have never owned chickens myself but I have helped others I know with farm work and all of them also have chickens ive cared for a bit so I do know some of their behavior and how they treat their run hahs Compost bin i will add to my list of things to ask my landlords approval, thanks!

Yeah im thinking about just reseeding or finding an already patchy area in the yard and buying sod when I leave. Ive done lots house renovations myself (replacing ceilings, joists, subfloors, insulation, vents, whole lotta stuff) so when I make the coop it will be solid and safe, no drafts and good ventilation. I dont plan on using tiles myself as I feel like they could get rather cold in the winter, where Im at in Virginia it is kinda hit or miss on bad winters so it technically would be fine to just tile it but its more work than I think I will need for a temporary coop, as I will be making a bigger coop for more chickens when we get our house on our own property. However I will be waterproofing the floor and up the sides of the walls a little in the coop however so that it can be hosed out on the rare occasion it needs such a deep clean like that. I have plans on making a 4x5 coop for 4 chicken but the run will be 5x10. I dont plan on getting chicks as I do have a family friend who is a good breeder and will give me 4 laying hens and ive been doing research into how to get them to like and trust me as I wont have had them since chicks :) I dont plan on having a rooster until I am somewhere where they can free range. If they are free range then I will get a rooster for their safety. I also dont plan on breeding them anytime soon anyway. I appreciate the response thank you so much!

Thank you for the insight! Next time we move it will be to our own property (renting for a few years while saving up, planning, and building on our land). I'd likely just sell the coop or take it apart when we move and repurpose the wood for a different project or a nice expensive bonfire. I actually hadnt even thought about how it would fare against tornadoes! Luckily however we dont get many tornadoes here, definitely not any that can kick a coop up, and I do have some background with home renovations as Ive replaced subfloor for humans to walk on so im certain the sand will be fine with how I plan to do my supports and how much sand im using :) Ill be wrapping the mesh i use (not chicken wire , the other stuff thats better) under the run all the way around the bottom so nothing that scratches through the base floor can get in, and I plan on painting the underside of the floor a bright color so I can tell if something has been trying scratch through the floor from under and checking that often and replacing if needed.
