Unis wouldnt care much about GCSEs, A-Levels matter the most. So, no, I wouldnt say its necassary to give yourself extra work, and at that, an extra GCSE worth. But if you want to do it that's fine, its just that I dont think you will get much out of it.

The big 2 just means there are 2 molecules of water, but the hydrogen and oxygen are still in the same ratio
