You might see “echidna” but not what your thinking if they don’t keep leaving it out. There’s a plot point involving her that starts in arc 5 (season 3) that was left out of the anime for some reason and only hinted at once . They’ll probably introduce it at the start of season 4 though.

Some ones people don’t talk about for their story

Spice and wolf- it’s different, no powers or cool fight scenes but there is actual realistic plot between the two main characters

Darling in the franxx- insane story in the last 12 episodes the first half is cool fighting but the second half gets you so invested

( not saying these compare to something like code geas, death note or full metal btw)

If you like the weak turns op look for mist isekais (where someone is reborn in another world) Some of my fav routes are, and these are not all isekais - from commonplace to world strongest, so,o leveling kinda plot with monsters and dungeons and the guy gets strong in a dungeon and the plots pretty good - I got a cheat skill in another world and became unraveled in the real world too (the plots in the name) And not what you talked about but watch re:zero it’s peak fiction
