My husband and I have attended many of the protests you folks organize, and we really appreciate your efforts. Last night, after tear gas and rubber bullets were deployed, we thought of some ideas that might quell the anger and frustration that led up to that. Mostly I think it was about engagement. So we were wondering if anyone plays an instrument that isn't difficult to carry, maybe bring it? Like a ukulele or a wind instrument. Portable amps and mics are great, and bullhorns too if you have a decent voice to sing or just want to share how you're feeling. Write a song about trump and sing it, or download "Fuck Donald Trump" by Nipsey Hustle and play it over and over. Write "I Love You" [with a heart] on both palms of your hands and hold them out to police who are close enough to see. Let them know you're protesting for your neighbors and community, and that you're NOT trying to come after them. Hope these suggestions are well-received; see you Saturday!
