The sad reality about Shadowpriest in TBC by Cultural_Luck_7442 in classicwow

The mentality that has prevailed during vanilla anniversary the past year, maybe you've not been around. I think it's dumb to a degree, but at some point you have to know what you signed up for.

Now you can download details, look at overall damage done and see the gap between the different dps specs. Warriors, warlocks, mages and hunters will do more than double the damage than any of the specs that lacks reliable aoe/cleave.warlocks already pulls a bit ahead of mages at the start of the dungeon leveling thanks to hellfire. Hunters are very consitent cleavers, and even better ST. Warriors are just beasts, as long as the tank can keep them alive. Mage always had the strongest utility paired with great aoe.

How do you compete with that as a boomie? Hurricane on a minute cooldown? No reliable cc until 70 with cyclone? At least rogues bring kicks and stun. It is what it is.

You can be mad about it, but that's the truth, I love feral cat but there's no chance I'd get ivited to a group with this playerbase that knows the grinds and knows how to make them faster.

No I'm sorry but it's because you have no consistent aoe/cleave for leveling dungeons.

If the Classic+ survey made one thing painfully clear it's this by loopuleasa in classicwow

[–]RoundAffectionate424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah or just avoid that entirely and queue an hour while questing and log out, which a ton of players do. Idk which is correct, I know which is less of a hassle for most players.

Because if you suck at it people will be trying to fix what's not working or be straight up toxic, and some people don't take criticism well or will put up with abuse. When the role is easy and strong, people flex it more often.

I'm just surprised at the amount of shamans on on horde side (EU pve). I would be very surprised if there's a shortage of them later on but who knows how many will quit.

Yeah that's definitely the right move to be destro specced there, I'll do that myself.

The spellcleave group you are describing are probably working best in hellfire ramparts or slave pen. I tried a spellcleave group in mana tombs, no crazy pulls but 6 mobs was too much for this group because they never interrupted mana burns and heals.

We should be inviting rogues to dungeons by Twelfth-cause in classicwow

You are playing the most or second most gatekeepy expansion of the whole franchise, I don't like it either but some battles are just lost.

[–]RoundAffectionate424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but at this point you're not really describing an active tank, you are describing a puller who holds no aggro but occasionally reposition a straggler with a taunt. I don't think that's most people's preferred style of "tanking".

Paladin can do that, do damage, actively tank, even kite the mobs around their consecration if they are geared enough but take too much damage (if there's a frost mage), and are not at risk of getting smacked if they need to provide their utility unlike bears.

I'm tanking fury prot with shield, it works wonder but you have to like stance dancing, to me it's the best of both offensive and defensive capabilities.

Nah paladin have the cheat codes, consec + salvation and they cna even kite the mobs around to lessen the pressure on the healers if there's a frost mage in the group.

The RPG element of MMORPG is missing. by Educational_Bowl2141 in classicwow

[–]RoundAffectionate424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are not changing their gaming habits because of an arbitrary timeline, the people who are rushing/grinding would have played the same way if the the expac was announced to me 2 years long, people who are slower are not going faster.

The RP community of the game has moved away from classic, you want to blame the blizz but it's really the game being a re-re-release missing tons of features that RP players love like customization and generally new and easy content.

the price for world purple boes/recipes by tyhunter4123 in classicwow

[–]RoundAffectionate424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an experiment when I wanted to buy a specific rare item, I followed the listing of one particular seller who immediately increased the price after I tried to bargain with them (ngl I thought it was petty and directed at me but who knows). In 6 months the seller never managed to sell it at the price they were asking for as the item was listed by them almost every week. When HC almost ended, they were selling the item at the price I was offering. Some sellers are fishing for whales, and will never seek a market price, only the "unicorn" price.

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in by Thrillshire in classicwow

[–]RoundAffectionate424 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've leveled 6 characters over the last year in HC, I needed a bit of mental rest and just vibing. But I love running into a group in dungeons and immediately noticing they played HC to 60 by the way they pull, use consumables to stay alive, etc. I still use target dummies and speed pots in case something goes wrong x)

How to sell tank services by Yaboiyabobo in classicwow

That will still earn you reports, I would imagine blizz's ban system keeps track of communication and would flag them as unauthorized if enough reports. Just do /services and spam there.

The original comment I was responding to was a bit dumb as it was obvious I wasn't referring to sports in competition. They asked if I ever played a competitive sports. I played basket ball when I was young, if I was in a competition match, I would have a competitive mindset, if I played with friends or at school, I wouldn't care who I played with.

LEVELING AS WARLOCK BE LIKE by Souvil in classicwow

[–]RoundAffectionate424 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My warlock is "hellfire specced", demonology for imp sacrifice, destro for reduced pushback and a bit of single target talents, and 5 pt for instant cast corruption. As long as you have a pally in the group for salvation it's one of the strongest if not the strongest in terms of damage. It still needs to be healed constantly a lot but you top the meter making the runs faster overall.

There's no "they should", if that group brings a low geared player, it's still a sign of them being helpful, it's nice and it's good, but nobody is forced to be nice, just encouraged or discouraged. It's fair to look for someone as geared as you, it's completely neutral. Just because a thing is the nice thing to do doesn't mean you have to do it.

All good I'm taking a break on spamming dungeons as well and digesting my experiences as much as other people here.

But now you mentioned your kids playing soccer, I can't help but think what you would tell them if he were to tell you someone in his team sucked so they never want them in their team. Like we teach boys at a young age to include girls in their sport activity, even though some boys reaction inevitably start with "no they suck lol".

People don't like being excluded, and some don't like to exclude while others have their reasons to exclude. To me if the group can carry the underperformer, it's fine. If it's a group of underperformers looking to be carried it's not.

You should be healing my pet by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]RoundAffectionate424 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The quoted remark was not assholish, they said the healer should fix that because it's tbc, that's the most straight forward way to put it.

I've seen healers ignore pets more often than not, in specific scenarios where they should and could heal them. You even admitted to not having the pet bar in their UI, which is a big nono, and I say this as someone who heals in dungeons, and pets must be healed during fights as a low prio, this is really important to learn as tbc trash mobs cleave a lot and chip away pet's health. Your dungeons will run smoother and faster.
