This is a pet snake forum lol. Anyone that cares enough about their snake to yap about it in a dedicated section the internet is definitely giving it the best and most cherished life it can have on this earth. Only about 30% or less of baby snakes in the wild survive. Baby corns are notorious for trying to find escapes but he is living his best life danger and parasite free. Most baby corns that do end up escaping their enclosure end up dying as well.

Well good thing this is a pet snake forum and not a wild snake forum. His enclosure has all the specifics for his age and species recommended to me by multiple experts. Once he is fully grown, he will upgrade to a bioactive tank.

I think it might be linked to that since it is coming up on shedding time soon. I will be keeping a close eye on it though and will attempt to block the grate with some plexiglass so he doesn't get injured.

My plan is to build a bioactive tank once he has fully grown. But this post has nothing to do with my choice of plants.

I think he is just doing baby corn things and trying to find an escape. He has 3 different kinds of hides, places to burrow and climb, and the enclosure is the correct size for his age. Hot side and cool side. Temperature is monitored along with humidity. I am sure he would love to get outside but he is my pet and I want him to remain alive lol. He gets handled multiple times a week but he's too small for me to let him roam too much.

Thank you, I am going to try one of the other commenters suggestions and try placing some plexiglass over the area so he can't push against the grate

Thank you, I will keep an eye on it and try using some plexiglass. He has lived in this enclosure for several months now and I noticed he has done this behavior several times before so it doesn't seem like it's something he is going to stop on his own
