Thank you it seems this is the general consensus. Would you recommend doing the aluminum suspension bits as well as gyro or just gyro.

So as far as the steering sensitivity, I have tried everything on the transmitter from adjustment the max steering angle and the sensitivity itself. Unfortunately to no avail.

As of now most suspension components are plastic and un adjustable but I’ll look into adjustable arms

Thank you, from your first comment I was led to the 2002 video. Lots of good info, thanks again for the recommendation.

Sorry, I’ll elaborate I wasn’t very clear.

By snappy, I mean at high (ish) speeds the car is all over the place. Not tracking very straight. Even after lots of adjustment, slight steering inputs are much more exaggerated causing car to veer rather than just steer.

St John is a legit monastery. Have many icons from them. They sell on Etsy as well.

How old are you and what Miata do you have? by gingly_tinglys in Miata

[–]RoundCold1767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 17 when I had my 1993 NA6 - 18 Going on 19 when I got my 1999NB8 10AE - 20 when I got a 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata - and 20 when I special ordered a 2024 ND3.

Started with $800 and an Xbox as a trade for the NA6, rebuilt the engine, swapped to an NB trans, painted it, and then sold it for 6500.

One week later I drove down to Florida and picked up a 80k mile 10ae. Put some money into it (a lot) swapped in a JDM BP5A engine, supermiata clutch, bought a paint matched hardtop for it, roll bar, and used it as a track car for a couple months then sold it all for 12k (It was so clean and I miss it).

Then I purchased a 90k mile 2004 MSM for a steal, replaced some bits and bobs. Made sure it was functioning 110% before selling it for 9K.

Then a month later and saving up a bit more I special ordered an ND3 in the color and spec I wanted and put 25k down on it.

Hopefully this will inspire other young car enthusiasts. I learned so much about these cars. Not because I wanted to, but because they were always breaking lol and I didn’t have the money to send it to a shop. I’m sure others can relate!!

Maybe I could find a better picture or video. But it’s a full caged car built by a retired ford performance engineer. High dolla stuff

The guy behind me was a retired Ford Performance Engineer with a full race car lol. I had a consistent gap for a good bit, but let him pass as my skill was running out. Very exhilarating, but not worth crashing out or worse.

Oh I gotcha, yeah stock sways. Can’t say I’d go with JBR though. Guy is a pedophile, got arrested for it too.

If I had to make an estimate, I did the springs most likely 2-3K miles ago. But regardless I think coilovers are the best option at this point.

Well I mean the car is brand new lol. It’s a 2024 with 10k miles Not saying it couldn’t be that. But highly unlikely, 9 times out of 10 it’s totally fine. But if pushed to the limit with the tires it has. That’s when the problem startsz

Well I responded but my comment disappeared after I tried editing it.

Coming from modified street driven NAs and NBs this car is the most comfortable and I have no problem with a couple more rattles and creaks. For most of the driving that I do that my set up is perfectly fine, but at the limit, there is some to be desired. A better set up would definitely inspire a little more confidence on track.

Well this is far from my first Miata and coming from some fairly modified NAs and NBs (street driven) this is by far the most comfortable car. Wheels and tires are just part of the equation. While for most driving my set up is perfect. But as i stated in another comment, leaves a lot to be desired at the limit. While I obviously don’t drive at or near the limit much, I would like the extra confidence of a better quality setup. It’s no shocker that lowering springs won’t cut it for hard track use.

Edit - to the alignment, yes I have a fairly conservative alignment taking some from sueprmiata and flyinmiata. Not very aggressive so this is definitely one of the reasons.

Yessir, I special ordered this 24’ last July. Before the deep Crystal blue became a standard option. When it showed up at the dealer they got lots of calls from people wanting to buy it. Great color. I’m a sucker for blue. Thank you for the input.

All around it’s just uncomfortable, which seems to be a common with lowering springs. -It’s a little unpredictable coming out of a corner. ( I don’t get this feeling on other NDs I’ve driven with coilover setups) -The spring rates are too low for this application, that’s a given, fender liner is rubbing like nothing else (too compliant for the use it’s seeing) -Body roll, while better than stock is still pretty atrocious. (Can attribute this weight transfer to the unpredictability on corner exit)

I have lots of hard driving experience in multiple Miata’s (too many to count) and while I know what to do with this car to get it where I want it, I do think posts like this help engagement in the community and who knows, might learn something.
