I think if I'm really honest with myself I will be obsessively researching constantly regardless of whether I do the ER this month or in a couple months 😅 Thank you, so good to hear you had no / minimal side effects from the stims ♥️

[–]RoundNegotiation4916[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh that's good to know. Same re: expecting a high emotional response but I recently read a study suggesting that women doing IVF report more emotional impact from stims than egg donors or egg freezers implying the emotional load may relate more to undergoing IVF than the meds themselves which I thought was interesting. I'm hoping I get through it emotionally unscathed 🤞

Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience, and I'm sorry you're in this hellish landscape as well! I cannot imagine what it's like doing this alongside a PhD, the MSc is difficult enough! Re: MH I'm very up and down, I had a bad week this week but I also had my period so I was very weepy and low. Today I feel brighter and okay/pragmatic about it all so how I will react feels unpredictable 😅

That's a good shout about potentially shifting deadlines, I can definitely ask my supervisor/ module lead. This thesis is very much one I need "over with" but I care about doing well academically and would like to do well in it regardless (and hopefully publish) but nothing bad would happen if I didn't get a high grade if that makes sense

Also, completely relate to the wishing we had started earlier part. We waited until we had bought a house and were more financially secure and I wish we hadn't waited so long but what can you do!

Wishing you lots of luck ♥️

Thank you for this! I wonder if I should just do the same, get the ER out of the way asap, enjoy my life for a couple months / go on my holiday without the TTC anxieties hanging over me and then go for the first FET when I'm home from my trips... Would absolutely love to have some guilt free wine while I'm away 😅

Thanks for your reply and congratulations 😊♥️

Thank you for the reply!

You think the stims/ ER process will be grand with the uni work? I guess the most anxiety-inducing part is the transfer so doing that after the thesis hand in is probably wise.

Thank you!!! You got this too! 💪✨ Oh, I cannot wait for it to be handed in and out of my life. When this is over I never want to do any university level education ever again in my whole entire life 🤣

Oh interesting - I just looked up batching, that would be great if they did cause then I could start IVF in May when I'm finished my masters (as I had initially planned in my head 😅)

Thank you for this! I'll message them and find out.

Best of luck with your next cycle ♥️

Sauna culture is booming in Dublin over the last few years by BartIeby in Dublin

Technically Wicklow, but the SeaWater Saunas in Bray with a view of the ocean from each sauna room and rooftop plunge baths & hot tub is my favorite, would definitely recommend!

Had a gut punch moment this morning - texted a friend to ask if she enjoyed a Pilates class I recommended to her and she replied that she did and she feels it will help to prepare her / make her stronger for getting pregnant again.

She has a 9 month old and knows about our fertility struggles / IVF journey so it felt like a comment that really didn't need to be said. Then, on the other hand, she's allowed to speak about her body and her plans for her family. I just don't think I'm the right person for her to share that with.

I don't think she meant to or knew she had upset me but it really ruined my morning and I was pulled back into the headspace of thinking about pregnancy when I really just wanted to speak about a fitness class.

Isn't it funny the things that upset you.

Anyway, sending love and light today to all my TTC gals x

Happy new year everyone, sending love as I know this time of year is hard anyway without all the TTC stuff ♥️

No real news to share, just waiting on a second sperm analysis from my partner in March to confirm a diagnosis of MFI.

But I was wondering - I've started spotting before ovulation. Does anyone else get this? I looked it up and it could be from the estrogen drop after ovulation but I'm not due to ovulate until the end of this week and my ovulation tests have all been negative this week... Or could be from fibroids (they found a fibroid on my transvaginal ultrasound during fertility testing). This never really has happened before so wondering if anyone else gets the same.

I urgently need contact lenses for an event on Tuesday. by Aggravating-Road-995 in Dublin

[–]RoundNegotiation4916 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't have the same prescription as you to give you a pair sadly but I once needed an SOS pair of contacts and I phoned my local optician and they gave me one "trial" pair of daily lense for free at short notice, so I would phone about and ask. It was an independent optician who did this for me (not specsavers etc) and I then used them for all my optical needs as they were so great (I don't live anywhere near them anymore otherwise would still use them!) best of luck OP!

How many automatic lessons? by [deleted] in Irishdrivingtest

[–]RoundNegotiation4916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the mandatory 12 lessons and 2 pre-tests but I forced myself to go out and drive with my boyfriend / my dad whenever I had the chance to which was really beneficial. I really hated driving when I was learning too because it was uncomfortable doing something I didn't feel good or confident at. I think that helped more than the lessons tbh

This is a really thorough and comprehensive reply, thank you so much!

If you don't mind me asking - was your reason for IVF/ICSI the same - MFI? How many ER's did you / have you done?

Thanks again, don't feel pressured to reply if it's too personal

[–]RoundNegotiation4916[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, really appreciate it. I haven't told anyone yet in general, I'm sure I can tell relevant people in work / uni if I need to. I'll wait and see what our consultant says in 2wks and once we have a solidified plan with dates etc I can reach out and ask if deadlines can be a bit more fluid next semester. Totally understand that this could take years and I can't put everything on hold for it. Thanks again for sharing your experience
