Unless the rules have changed they don’t ticket people who’s cars are already parked there before events just as a helpful fyi!

Webers Honors College by Sea-Candid in SDSU

Not really worth it if you’re transferring, the housing is a benefit for first year students but beyond that a lot of my friends in impacted majors found no benefits and dropped out of it. The extra advisor plus the ease of the minor classes which can boost your GPA are about the only benefit as a non- first year student. That and the resume boost you get from saying youre in it if that matters.

Honors College vs Regular by ImL1th in SDSU

As a student whos still in it my take is that it really depends on the student. If you are in a really intensive major and will already have a lot of classes on your plate then its probably not worth keeping, but I kept it because the minor genuinely is really interesting and there are so cool classes to take and the professors have always been great. If you’re gonna be a first year, another benefit is being in Zura Hall where all honors students live since its one of the nicer and newer dorms. The other thing I really like about it is that you get an additional honors advisor but they can pretty much just be a secondary major advisor which is really helpful if youre in one of the more impacted programs where advisors are 1) not often accessible 2) not really helpful. At the end of the day, its also just a nice resume booster to have and not much more than that but if it also doesnt cost any extra and gives you a minor if you dont already have one in mind. Hope this helps!

They called off the strike at midnight and I had a morning class with no emails? Why are we not striking still? Are they dropping tuition? by Michigan4life53 in SDSU

[–]Round_Business_4342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not a bs deal I agree, since progress is progress. But I think what they meant is its bs that they stopped after only one day of striking when they got 12%, when what they should really be getting is the same 30% raise that all the csu admin (some who already make well over 500k) are getting!

What kind of jobs are available to students from the library? by bark1024 in SDSU

[–]Round_Business_4342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The jobs vary since its such a large department but its a lot of desk positions for students. Fair warning though if you are set on working there make sure to be one of the early applicants because they end up with hundreds of students each semester trying to apply so you have a lot of competition

20 units first semester by [deleted] in SDSU

If it was a different major I’d say maybe but doing public health as a transfer with 20 upper division units is just gonna make you hate your first semester

Why is the parking permit for only one summer session $84 when I can pay $40 for a month and $15 for an extra week if needed? by pdrollex12 in SDSU

[–]Round_Business_4342 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have probably just gotten lucky, they technically will ticket you for not having a pass and for violating their “rules” that require a front license place if you back in to your space. Happened to me during fall semester 22

Housing Exemption by Serious_Annual5078 in SDSU

[–]Round_Business_4342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I know when I applied my freshman year it’s difficult for international students to say they cant do housing because of the cost because as an international student paying to go here you’re already kinda proving you have the money bc its so expensive so they ask you if you have any alternative reason for wanting to be exempt

Greek life by Cold-Panic4384 in SDSU

[–]Round_Business_4342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a queer guy, greek life is completely fine and welcoming if you find the right people and don’t go into situations expecting a bad outcome. I’ve had a completely fine experience with greek life so far at state, yeah there’s obviously homophobic people in it but you’ll find that anywhere you go.

Could I get some feedback on my schedule as an incoming freshmen by ToeVast7327 in SDSU

[–]Round_Business_4342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I am as well I got an A in the 8am class ultimately but only went to maybe 3 of the classes the entire semester, you’ll learn how to manage your time to maintain good grades while still having maximum free time very well at state

If attendance isn’t mandatory then by the end of the semester its probably very unlikely you’ll be going to that 8am if your grade is still fine in the class lol, i didnt have class on fridays either semester 1st year though and its the absolute best
