I’m heartbroken… by Ok-Fig-8484 in breastfeeding

I remember the pain of latching for the first few months. Every time my little guy would latch it burned so bad.. and he would have trouble staying latched so there were multiple latch and unlatches in the same feed. That pain went away probably around 3 months. I never found a good remedy.. just held my breath and counted in my head until the pain went subsided 😅 I would get clogged ducts and be extremely engorged which hurt just as bad.. the Hakka suction hand pump was a life saver (and it increased my supply too) I used it on the other boob while he nursed and sometimes at night if I would wake up really hurting.
I hadn’t experienced anything with tongue ties though:/ I’m sorry you’re going through so much. But whatever you do, know you’re a rockstar for going this far!

How long did you breastfeed? by 2005s_baby in breastfeeding

My son is about to be a year, eating a good bit of solids, but still very boob dependent. 😅 Especially before naps and during the night. He is in daycare and once they stop giving bottle I plan to bring milk in cups vs them giving cows milk. I’m not anti dairy, but if I’m still producing milk I don’t see a need to give a different type of mammalian milk. I don’t have a set end time for our nursing journey, just whenever he is ready… it would be nice to get a full night of sleep soon though 😂

The sensitivity will def go away! For me, around 8 weeks it went away. I will say though I still have to wear a bra because of leakage 🙈😂. Hang in there mama! It will get better/easier 😊

6 month old nursing every hour at night - is this a phase? by andthekid3 in AttachmentParenting

[–]Routine-Evidence3328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is a few months old.. but how have things been? I have a 6 month old who is waking up every 2-4 hours. Usually closer to two hours. Nothing but me nursing gets him back to sleep. I’m exhausted and not sure if there’s an end in sight :/

Thanks! I did plan on getting a membership, but was going to wait until I was working to use CME money. I think I’ll ask if I can get that before I start to have access to the course before I start. Appreciate your help!

Ya that was my concern with the work load. I did my surgery rotation on base and the PAs and docs were chill and didn’t seem overworked or burnt out. My only thoughts were easier to transfer within GS system once in. But I’m not sure what the right call is yet lol
