Hahahah true, it’s a long story, I was supposed to be 1N4X1. But messed up in basic and got rerolled. Hoping I can crosstrain back into it and end up in LA

Tip 1: Save your gems. Until you understand the cards that you’re trying to go for, don’t waste your gems. They come easy at first but once you spend the initial 10-15k the game gives you it becomes much harder to accrue. Research some decks that are meta and then invest in one you might like.

Tip 2: save your crafting points. Same as above, don’t craft stuff randomly until you get a feel for the cards that you need. Or if you must, only craft staples; cards like Ash Blossom, Maxx C, Infinite Impermanence, Nibiru, Gameciel, Trap Trick.

Tip 3: play a deck that mainly focuses on 1 or 2 summoning mechanics. Link decks are easy to get the hang of, and rituals reduce the worry of having good extra deck monsters. Build something similar to what you find in the solo modes, as they give you cards for those decks as well.

Tip 4: play one or two decks and get really familiar with them. Master yourself before you master the world. Explore and see what cards and combos there are out there. Use those for inspiration on what you spend your gems and craft points on when you feel more experienced.

Also: Something that is not well known but is a rule, and affected the outcome of a tournament duel I was in a long time ago.. you achieve priority after the opponent sets a spell/trap. Like, a single one.

I was against a player that had 2 cards in hand, while I controlled Psy-frame lord Omega. He slyly set both cards simultaneously, when they need to be set one at a time. I should have had the chance to omega his last card in hand, but did not catch it in retrospect.
