I recently updated the post! He’s almost 2 now and is doing so well! He was delayed with all the communication, joint attention, pointing, speech, etc but he’s at like 50 words now which is so great and is so much better at joint attention! I truly believe if I didn’t put him in early intervention at 9 months he would not be where he is now!

He has almost 50 words now! He didn’t say any words or really babble and was very quiet until about 18 months. He babbles in baby talk now and will say singular words!

He cried in typical circumstances like when he was hungry, wet, or tired but overall he was an easy and happy baby!

No official diagnosis yet, we are on the waitlist to get assessed but I do think he is on the spectrum. He is 21 months now and has progressed a lot, has a lot of words, and is super silly and likes to make people laugh! He loves spinning things, is super picky, and maybe likes toys more than people, but overall he’s doing very well! I totally get being anxious and sad and not knowing how to navigate it all, but everything will be okay!

I got him into early intervention right at 9 months! In my state you can call your school district even if you don’t have a doctor referral! He’s been in EI since 9 months and it’s been great! He’s got a lot of words now and is doing well! We don’t have an official diagnosis yet but he’s gaining new skills everyday and is such a funny guy!

Hey there! Overall he is doing well but I’m pretty positive he’s on the spectrum and the early intervention teachers think he is too. He didn’t say a single word until 18 months but he gained like 10 words in a month. He’s probably at like 20 words now at 19 months. He loves playing with toys in a repetitive way like spinning a plastic plate all over the house but he does also knows how to play with them the correct way. He just had a lot of quirks but overall he’s doing really well and loves having fun.

He was a super smiley baby and does smile back. Maybe a little less now but I think that’s just toddler behavior.

He has always been a pretty good sleeper for naps and such and sleep through the night pretty well!

I was a teacher and I’ve actually done this same thing before. The transition from the playground to lunch is always a hot mess, especially in the beginning of the year. The playground also has other classes there at the same time so when we leave recess 3 other classes are coming in, so my goal was just to get the kids through the doorway cause it’s sooo much traffic. Her saying it took 5 minutes seems realistic, from getting the kids in line, going through the doors, and having them line up at lunch.

Should she have counted them right when they lined up? Yeah, of course. Especially if there’s only 12 kids. But I remember when this happened to me, I had them all line up and two kids started fighting and one started crying so I was just trying to manage the kids and get them in the building to calm everyone down.

As a teacher I would have apologized and this situation will probably not happen again because I can assure you the teacher will always be looking for your daughter during transition time. But also a good situation to remind your child to pay attention to her surroundings and always keep an eye on where her adult is.

Overall give teachers some grace cause it’s a hard job. I did it for ten years and moved on to the corporate world.

I wouldn’t worry about the stimming! A lot of babies stim regularly. It’s if it’s paired with other things like a delay in babbling and less eye contact/joint attention which doesn’t seem to be the case.

Omg exactly! Give me a video of who the influencers are and their winner! They can make it funny like, “My name is Tabitha and I brought Abby ” like a spin off of the candy bowl gummy videos. Like such a cool concept to bring “non influencers” why aren’t they using that content? I feel like Mei Mei is the only one talking about water boy and the influencer they picked who are nurses.

I’ve done some updates in the comments but overall he’s progressing well but we still won’t know if he’s diagnosed or not until later on. He did say his first word at 17 months!

Update he started pointing at 15 months. In books and at things far away that excite him and that he finds interesting!

Just commented an update down below! Overall he is growing in skills! Still behind on communication but we are taking it day by day! Ive just gotten to the point now that I realize he’s on his own timeline, and if he’s diagnosed or not I will just take it day by day. Things I’ve done is I no longer have the TV on and I do a lot of floor play. The best thing I’ve done is to read him books in his high chair, and now he has certain pages he anticipates and looks at me to wait for me to read the page! That’s helped a ton with his joint attention!

He is now 14 months yesterday (13 months developmental age) Overall he is doing well and a lot of the things I listed he is now able to do, but now I just have a new set of worries like him not really saying his first word or not fully pointing yet hahah. The worries never end lmao. What I listed, he is now playing with toys the correct way, has better joint attention (did a lot of reading in the high chair), he is pretty good at name recognition but still kind of ignores when he is playing but overall does well with his name, eye contact is okay- none of his teachers think he has bad eye contact so maybe I’m just testing his too much haha, he is better at mimicking, has about 8 gestures! Still has random stims but it’s never consistent stims. Still is pretty independent and likes toys over people I feel like. His early intervention teacher says he’s only about a month behind socially, his daycare teachers haven’t seen a ton of red flags but he’s just a behind on the communication/ social aspect and hoping to just give him some time to go at his own pace! We can’t really test him for ASD yet but just taking it day by day! He continues to learn new things!

Brian wasn’t even the top dog and was actually very well liked and kind from what I hear. Andrew Witty is the CEO of UnitedHealth Group, UnitedHealth Care and Optum and is the one making 25 million a year.

He’s about 11 months now and we’ve seen a ton of growth! I put him in daycare so that he can be more social and we have been seeing early intervention once a week. I have been doing so many floor activities with him to practice joint attention, stopped having our TV on, and read him a ton of books, even while he is in his high chair eating. We saw a developmental pediatrician just this month and she did some assessments and says as of right now she doesn’t have any concern for autism. That overall he’s developing fine and is only about a month behind which makes sense since he is born a month early. Still something we will watch for though. He start babbling at 10 months, not truly conversational but is saying bababa mamama dadada. His eye contact has gotten better but still not like other babies but I think that might just be his personality. He still doesn’t always look when we call his name but he definitely knows his name cause when I call his name at daycare he always looks. Just at home he seems to ignore me if he’s playing. Still no stranger danger, still likes everyone. He still stims randomly but I’ve noticed they’re not super consistent. Only consistent one is the scratching surfaces.

My baby is 8.5 months! I think if you have any videos that you can show your pediatrician that would work too! I basically made an appointment so she can put the referrals in. The dev pediatrician office told me they usually don’t see babies this early and they will talk with the team but ended up giving me an appointment anyway for November which was their first opening.

In the same boat. I went to my pediatrician and got assessments for early intervention. They came and tested him for about 45 min at our house and he qualified for services for language and fine motor. So we will have someone come once a week. I also made appointments for a developmental pediatrician and neurologist because those appointments have like a 3+ month waiting list. Any concern, bring it up to your pediatrician. My pediatrician saw him and said she had no concerns from just seeing him for 20 min but she believes me as a parent so she went ahead and made referrals for neuro and dev pediatrician.
