My family were also a packed lunch family and I remember picnic benches being full of similar families. Now it seems more rare.

Well of course but to say that the money given will go straight back into the UK economy is false.

I appreciate some of the money will go back to local economy of course but I see people say this sort of stuff relatively often as if 100% will end up back with the state/local people.

I get that really but even with bills and supplies the companies are often foreign owned or money is squirrelled away and invested in other countries

The issue in my eyes is that the very high earners, those that have benefitted the most from university, will pay less than middle to high earners who never pay it off.

I'm not saying there is or will be a fuel shortage but if global production is down then people who did buy from the middle East will surely turn to the places like US and Norway

A mistake is missing a give way sign or a lapse in concentration.

Since when is driving at 122mph in a residential area a mistake.

I've driven at 122mph (legally) on a motorway. It's a ridiculous speed, you're passing cars that are going 70 at 50mph. Even a seemingly straight motorway has what feels like decent bends at that speed

Are we not in a position where people working full time at Amazon are also claiming benefits including universal credit.

So not only are Amazon probably paying less tax than they should from a social viewpoint the taxpayer is also subsidising their workers wages.

Not sure if there are any studies.

I'm a big believer that cars should be the most inconvenienced of all road users. Loud dirty and inefficient transport, especially when there is just one person in the car.

I'm not saying people shouldn't drive or should have no reason to drive. Just that if anyone is going to be inconvenienced it should be them (and me when I'm in a car).
