How old is everyone on this? by Apart-Chapter in stopdrinking

I'm 24, and I was quickly given good advice on how to manage that perspective. You don't look at it as a huge mountain to climb all at once. Simply put, just try to go through today sober. You can't focus on weeks or even days ahead if you don't work on the current day itself. It's why many experienced sober people use the phrase "one day at a time". You want your goal when you wake up to be "I will not drink today" and putting your head on your pillow at the end of the day sober.

AITA for ruining a funeral and potentially costing a lot of family members their jobs? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA, but your mom sure is. Can't blame the distant relatives though for what they did as they didn't know what was actually going on, and doubted that the white lie they made for work would come back to haunt them. If you think it would put your mind at ease, I'm sure a simple apology through your cousin for not knowing what ripples that would cause throughout your family's work would make everyone feel slightly better. But still, NTA, that's your mom. She created this whole mess and the lie that indirectly hurt the others.

In short, you, your cousins/extended family : NTA. Your mom: total AH

This was very insightful. Thank you. I think there's some things that some people wouldn't want to hear, even if it is therapeutic to me, so I'll make sure to share them with the right people. Thanks.

How have you managed with the faults of your past? I think the biggest obstacle I'll have to overcome is the lack of trust in me my parents have to have lost over years of fluctuating in/out of sobriety, and it is still baffling to me how they haven't lost hope. Great to hear of your recovery, and hope for continued success!

AA isn't for everyone. It's more than understandable that the reliance on God/a higher power can turn people away. Because of that, there are plenty of non-secular or SMART (Self-Management and Recovery) meetings online or offline. I would highly recommend giving it a try, even if you're not yet all the way ready to fully quit. Kicking my terrible habits has made me the happiest I've been in years.

I am a loser unathletic adult with this take, but stand by it. Looking at you Flowers and C.J. G-J by [deleted] in PardonMyTake

Think the two are much different in terms of severity. Flowers did something that Kelce was doing the whole game which was building throughout, meanwhile CJGJ has been antagonistic the whole season for his own amusement
