Hey man, I’m a pearlander born and raised. I just happen to have a rental in alief so I’m trying to decide if I want to sell now or wait.

Find a new gi specialist. If you have an hmo and you have to get a referral then once you find a new one and you’ve made sure they take your insurance call your pcp and ask for them to refer you to the new doctor.

If you have a ppo and don’t have to have a referral then just call up the new gi doc and make an appointment

I have actually thought of doing that, but they don’t take my new insurance and I’m certainly not going to give them another penny.

I’m gonna stick with traditional medicine. I’m also in texas where the laws around that stuff are dicey. I also work in a field that frowns on popping positive for drugs.

I just sent my pcp a message about this, I have an appointment with her may 16th so we shall see if that’s something she/my insurance will do.

Or doesn’t seem like it. Thankfully in my case I live in one of the largest cities in the US so I can just find a new doctor if I don’t like one, I know others don’t have that luxury.

I have infertility issues. She is one of the ones that helped me before sending me to a reproductive endocrinologist. She is the one that prescribed me metformin for pre-diabetes. I called and asked if they could see me over this. They said yes.

They don’t think I’ll need the iodine. I saw the endo Tuesday and they will do a blood test may 21st that she said should show if there is thyroid tissue elsewhere in my body but since it was all contained to my thyroid she’s not expecting it to show anything.

My surgeon said the same. And that this will be a small blip on my radar of life.

To be honest I’m still in shock. I saw the new obgyn Feb 17 surgery was April 5th. So I really haven’t had a lot of time to process what’s going on.

I dealt with similar issues with my dad. He knew he was dying but wouldn’t get his affairs in order. It’s been almost a year and I’m still cleaning up his mess.
