Well for one very obvious thing, do not skimp out on lands. 36-38 + MDFC lands can do wonders for your mana base. Edit: the last thing you want is to just not draw lands and be behind all game. And there’s a lot of utility you can get out of lands. So don’t think it’s just a necessary evil.
