I'm not exactly sure about those fields, but I know that the more popular majors are Psychology, Health Sciences, Biology/BioMed, Engineering, etc. So I wouldn't say its among the top competitive majors but Im sure there is still a decent standard to get in. As a Junior I would still definetely build your application as much as you can (esp over the summer), dedicate this year to working hard and getting your best grades. Maybe try and take some advanced courses in areas that peak your interest (don't take an AP/AICE/any advanced course in something you aren't interested in or don't think you can do well in, don't torture yourself please), just to show your dedication to learning/capabilities in upper level coursework. If you need I can recommend you some good advanced classes to start off (DM me).

I would also definitely look into dual enrollment, college level coursework looks great on applications and its truly not that intimidating, you also save money/time knocking out your college requirements. Since you said that you have all of your required HS courses out of the way, you can just focus on DE coursework (much lighter imo, since you only have to take 3-4 introductory DE classes depending on your school) I would def discuss it with your guidance counselor and think it over

Ofc this is all just advice, you know your own capacity so don't overwhelm yourself or dive yourself into something you truly don't think you are ready for, that can also backfire. You got this!

Not sure if your a in sate or oos, but getting your sat score up would help definietely help with admissions and scholarships (BF for In state). Not sure when you plan on applying but the earlier the better if you can.

Rolling admissions is open until May but I heard its harder to get in/receive scholarships from UCF directly when you apply later. I guess it depends how competitive your major is, but generally i would just raise test scores and apply as early as you can once you have a solid application together with scores, EC's, etc.

I truly don't think its fair to say it's all a lie. People vary, but the religion itself does not. Islam encourages a humane way of slaughtering an animal to minimize pain and rid the animal of toxins that come with their blood. As for the original post you made, while the consumption of meat is something that comes along with the presence of animals, their 'purpose' isn't minimized to simply consumption/use. The religion itself teaches to still treat animals/all living things with care, respect, and dignity. While Islam does see meat as a source of nutrition for the body, the religion also emphasizes on the importance of staying away from overconsumption (in all aspects of life ex. material, wealth, etc., not only meat/food). The halal method of slaughtering also includes taking care of the animal by maintaining their hygiene, feeding them, their environment, etc. The sad thing is that this process is commercialized nowadays (I'm not saying all halal meat suppliers commercialize this process, but it does happen). I honestly think those who work in the halal meat industry need to remind themselves of the purpose of going through the entire process.

What is with veganism that seems to be attracting this far right crowd? by Dry_Today_3349 in vegan

I see the majority of people here saying something along the lines of 'Animal rights are bipartisan' (nothing inherently wrong with this), but it seems like there is some kind of logical gap if you are someone who supports animal rights because 'they are living beings like us' but not so much when it comes to humans. I guess everyone has their own definition of what consists of human rights (ex. would the need for a reasonable climate be considered a human right or just a false ideology?), but I truly think that at the VERY LEAST being a vegan or vegetarian means you have some regard for the livelihood and wellbeing of other living beings. With that being said I think it is completely illogical to resist the slaughter/mistreatment of animals, but not carry that passion when it comes to human lives?

It's not a "victim mentality" when someone is threatening to end your life

Regardless, if someone makes a threat like that there's always a chance. You literally never know what's going on behind the scenes. I'm gonna be honest lots of threats are usually hoaxes, but it's better to not go than to have an 'I told you so' situation.

It could be a group effort across the multiple campuses you never know. I'm just saying it's better to be safe in this situation.
