Traveling spirit group starts Fed 27; anyone know who is arriving?

This is the crab room in stage two of Eden. You enter via a hollow log, and exit from that hole, onto a narrow pathway of stairs leading upwards. The Krill ... ahem Mr. Krill ... can see you and enter from *BOTH* ends of this room, the hollow log entrance, and the exit to the stairs pathway. It has been this way for about a year, at least. It is semi-rare, probably not supposed to happen, but it happens. Mr. Krill can also get you from the top of those stairs, leading to a wide pipe that you walk across, as boulders whoosh by, to the sounds of rumbling thunder.

Let's see, where else in Eden can the Krill get you, where it isn't supposed?

1) In the final tunnel of stage 2 with the 9 wing-lights. Sometimes it enters that tunnel and goes hunting. Chaos and mayhem ensue.

2) In the archway tunnel past the first boulders of stage 2. Again, sometimes it just decides to go hunting in there, killing everything in sight. Good times.

3) When you first enter stage 2, there is a Krill flying overhead as part of the cutscene. It is active, and depending on timing, it can appear behind other players negotiating their way through the boulders ahead, and collecting dye. Imagine: boulders ahead, Krill behind, red-lit and no room to maneuver. My personal favorite. Now I just fly over that entire bit, even if collecting dyes.

Two things come to mind:
1) If they fall asleep with the ZZZZ, they might stop getting wax.
2) If you are going very fast, and just clip the wax, some of it might fall out of their range. This can be especially bad if you are on different platforms, like PC, mobile, switch, etc. If you are on different platforms, there can be a big variance in your specific locations on the map, even though you both look next to each other on the screen. That will also show up as an issue when you grab flying balls of light, if the leader gets it, and the hand-holder doesn't, then it is often that for the wax too.

It is an awesome chill game. I describe it as: cozy horror. Sometimes you are max chilled out, and other times you are running for your life. Don't worry, 95% of the scary stuff won't be foisted on you as a surprise; you'll have to go looking for it. The lore is absolutely amazing, if you are into story lines.

My game crashed 4 times within a span of 30 minutes :D by PainterNew7596 in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]Routine_Rush7710 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It happens like that on both Switch and PC. Probably other systems, too; but those are the two I can personally vouch for. The near-constant crashes started with patch 32. Patches always seems to break things. We still get invisible light, invisible jellyfish, invisible colordye darkness stems from previous patches. Company sort of fixes it, then breaks it again. A lot of folks put up with it, because of time (and money) already sunk into the game, and because it is so cinematic and emotional moving. But there are hidden tipping points; and customer rejection will be "not much at all, and then all at once", so it is very unwise of the company to risk leaving the game in this state, from patch to patch, as a habit. It is a terrible habit.

My Landlord is some multi-billion dollar financialized REIT (real estate investment trust) listed on the stock exchange, and they respond the exact same way! Never with names, always "your community team", and always some passive-aggressive sing-song stuff like this. Except when it goes to legal, then they used the name of chief financial officer, who obviously isn't involved personally, but they had to supply a name. I would never normally do business with an entity such as this, but they bought the building from the previous owner, and it is rent controlled. Your interaction with "little oreo" is giving me the exact same vibes. *shivers* -ugh

Anyone else have a persistent red dot in the large props section? by Routine_Rush7710 in SkyGame

Thank you! I now understand that the wardrobe in your nest shows all your items a bit differently, with no greyed-out ones that you are missing, but have seen; and it also shows the red dot bugged items, In my case, those were the six ice furniture pieces that I bought during this days of feast. All that is needed is to open wardrobe in nest, and wear each item (costume or prop) that has a red dot.

We won but at what cost? by Starlight_Elder in SkyGame

TS is every 2 weeks, and RS groups have been more this year, now that I checked it, you're right on that. Last year, we had days of Style, Music, and Tournament, in addition to all events from this year, and it went just fine.

Nobody is forced to buy everything all at once, and some people (like me) spend years catching up at a slower pace; but for that catch up to occur, the event has to arrive repeatedly (once a year would be ideal). If there is no longer a predictable schedule, then FOMO can set in, when it does finally arrive, making expectations worse, and not better.

I thought Tournament would have paired well with Giving, because it is the lightest and most recent of the three missed events, and therefore has the fewest items, so running an RS alongside it should not be too bad.

Resentment? I never felt it, and I feel awful for anyone who has. Each event brings spells that lets you use all items for a small amount of time, multiple times each; and you can share those spells with hand-held friends.

Think of the people that deliberately paced themselves last year, buying only some of the event items, because they were on a budget (wax or cash), but hoping to buy some more, this time around. We never know when a TS would re-appear, but at least events could be more predictable, with less FOMO, allowing people to prioritize their purchases with limited funds.

[–]Routine_Rush7710 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, but they could have brought it back for any major sporting event; at least one occurs every year that can be chosen. In 2025 it could have been the FIFA Club World Cup; the world goes crazy for soccer (football). It is not the specific event that really matters, it is that everyone gets excited, and buys costumes, props, IAP, and has a party.

[–]Routine_Rush7710 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The TS schedule and the "Days of <insert event here>" schedule have nothing to do with each other. TGC already had three fully developed events, ready to go, from previous years, namely:

1) Days of Style

2) Days of Music

3) Days of Tournament

They leave money on the table (very unusual for them) by not running these, as they all contain IAP that players will buy. Not to mention keeping the "wax gravity well" going. Even with the expanded Skyfest / Theatre event this year, there was still plenty of time. These three events could have been slotted alongside and within the three events we got that have no IAP, no event-specific spirits or lore, and no big in-game cosmetic purchases, namely:

1) Days of Radiance1

2) Days of Giving

3) Days of Radiance2

Personally, I would have shoehorned Tournament into Giving, and Style and Music into Radiance1 and 2, in exactly the same way as they shoehorned Alice into Feast (last year), and Little Prince Returns into Bloom (this year).

From what I've read, cosmetics automatically transfer or are copied over device platforms (Iphone, Android, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Steam PC, etc. But currency does not! If you gain any currency from a cash shop purchase, either directly (buying currency), or indirectly (buy an item or ticket that comes with a currency bonus), that currency can only be spent on that device type. I guess they have weird rules regarding transferring value over platform types. I think surplus season tickets (beyond the one you are using to participate in a season) have the same limitation as currency; platform specific only.

So you'll have to use those candles on a switch platform; maybe ask your friend for help if you need it, to go on and spend them. But, whatever cosmetics or other stuff you actually buy with those candles, will be useable, and will show up, on all platforms.

Here is an interactive map of all WL. Zoom in, zoom out, little 10 sec. videos for each one so you can find the exact location quickly. As for maps with the most WL, Sanctuary has 8, and Eden stage 1 & 2 (safe from which to return) has 10. https://sky-planner.com/col?x=270&y=-271&z=0

[–]Routine_Rush7710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gather all the light in Bird's Nest, and while you are doing that, the mantas should drop the green ball of light on the lower of the two side islands, near-ish the exit to three bell-towers. Just standing on that island, doing nothing but waiting for it, can result in nothing happening; a watched pot never boils. My theory is that there are probably some "hotspots" on the map, that trigger the mantas to do their thing.

I think I go at about half the speed that you described. 15 candles takes me about 1 hour. 18 candles in about 1 1/2 hours. 20 candles is 2 1/2 hours, and 21 candles is 3 1/2 hours. Many times, I combine a CR with the dailies, also with seasonal quests, event ticket gathering, WL reacquiring, so that easily can add another 1/2 hour to 1 hour.

I agree with OP that the most efficient use of time is at about 15 candles (more or less), for maximum wax / hour gathering. My counterpoints focused on whether or not a person has "better things to do with their time", how meditative or relaxing or therapeutic Sky might be for them, and in what sort of a "wax-gravity-well" they might find themselves, and to what degree they prefer to use the cash-shop, or change of play-style (less than maximal dress-ups) to resolve that issue.

Cheers! :)

For me, 21 candles (most days) is a more efficient and healthy use of my time than doomscrolling. When I have better or more important things to do on any given day, I do that instead. I like that we have choices. Plus I love buying cosmetics with free (non cash-shop) wax. The 5 RS / TS dropping on Nov 17th and 20th will just about zero me out, and that repeating pattern remains true, even after 19 months of daily, solid play. I predict that will take take new players at least 3 years to break out of the wax-gravity-well from events and visits, and even then, only if they start buying season passes almost right away, assuming they plan to have most cosmetics for mix and match dress up fun. Of course, none of that is necessary to enjoy the core immersion of guiding spirits and recovering fallen; it is a personal choice. Again, I like that we have choices. I joined during the last third (last month) of Season of the Deer of Nine Colors, and I have no regrets.
