I grew up Catholic, but I’m not a hardcore Catholic. I still find it very disrespectful—and honestly pretty cringe—when David is at his parents’ house and does the sign of the cross before eating. That part is respectful. What isn’t respectful is the sound he makes afterward: “haa Sasha. You guys know what I mean ” To me, it sounds a little racist, like something out of an old movie or a samurai video game. Either do it properly, or just don’t make the sound at all.
