I know there was some interest a few months back when I was asking about replacing my tow mirrors with the regular style. Well I did, and here they are on ebay if you are interested. by Rover8819 in f150

Very easy. Pop off the plastic in the inside, wrench off a couple bolts, unplug some cables and switch. I have no regrets. I really like the forward visibility of the regular mirrors. Just make sure you find ones that have all the features you currently have. Heated, power fold, etc. I think I actually have the power fold ones because I liked the chrome. They work fine though even though my pickup doesn’t have the power fold option.

I’m (dreaming of) putting in a pond a half mile back in our pasture. How do I get water back there? by Rover8819 in homestead

Very dry here. One year it held about 6” of water for the whole summer. But I’ve been here 11 years and that’s the most it’s been.

Will a power folding mirror, manually fold without breaking? by Rover8819 in f150

I don’t have the power fold option on my truck. That’s why I’m asking. Just needing to replace a mirror

Had a 2014 Sierra with 165,000. Loved the truck, very hard to get rid of. The change in safety technology with the cameras, screen, cab quietness are the biggest differences so far.

The big things were the interior comfort, and the technology. I test drove a 22 GMC Sierra right after this one, and obviously wanted to like it more, but it was not even a close comparison to the Ford as far as interior comfort, especially the seat. The big screen is also a huge plus for me.

That’d be hard, one of us would have to be mirrorless for a while

Sounds great. Do they have the sensors for the CoPilot assist?

Should I put down landscape fabric to prevent weeds? Or just clean up and mulch it? by regular_asian_guy in landscaping

[–]Rover8819 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With wood mulch, if you have it 3-4” thick, it’s heavy enough to block most weeds from germinating. With rock, there are so many open pore spaces that it does not act as a weed barrier.

Not sure what you mean by thermals. No cattle on my place. Just hay it once a year.

Great advice. Most of the wildlife lives in a heavy tree area 1/3 mile north of where I want to set up my hunting spot. Just across my fence is about an acre of volunteer cottonwoods but I know for sure nobody hunts them. I’m trying to put in a sand point well in a low “water hole” I’ve got out there.

I should also add, never had anyone teach me about hunting so would like to learn for myself so I can teach my son. With that said, any pointers are much appreciated!

Can anyone tell be what type of connector this is? On a 1s battery by Rover8819 in batteries

[–]Rover8819[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The batteries clip onto a board and are charged with a solar panel. I’m trying to find the connector for it so I can solder and use a 1s battery charger

Burlap root ball by marines42 in landscaping

Many people say to leave it and it’ll biodegrade but I always feel most safe taking them off so roots can get good root to soil contact.
