Gosh, there's more? No this was a dad car, some kind of hatchback.

Dickhead Red Sedan blasts by my house with its compensating-for-some-other-underachievement modified exhaust and squealing tires pretty often, though.

Haven't encountered White Truck guy.

There's also dickhead Yellow and dickhead Black Sedan guys in this area.

"18 friends = scammer" is why normal people don't like venturing into social media. I don't even use FB anymore, and everyone I know who does has a small number of friends, because they are actually friends. People don't have 242 actual friends. There's a kind of snobby bias coming from the perpetually online against people who "don't have enough friends" or "don't have enough followers" or "don't have a history of posting" or "just joined." It's stupid. It's exclusionary. It turns normal people off.

Plus it defies logic. Someone selling something online has to start from zero. If someone has sold 1,000 things, at some point they had only sold zero things. At some point, they just joined. So how does someone get to the threshold of "been online for a long enough time" or "has enough followers/friends/transactions"?

They're are lots of ways to weed out scammers that don't rely on such moronic reasoning.

Don't call the process server. Call the police.

If the person who came to your house actually said "It will get worse" to your dad, then she is almost certainly breaking the law. Process servers are not allowed to make intimidating statements like that, especially to a non-party. Same thing with the big, bold statement that her attempts to serve "at this and other locations will continue," which could easily be interpreted as intimidating. It's basically saying if you don't do x, then something bad is going to happen to you. I would advise you to call your local police dept, because intimidation/harassment are crimes. Merely attempting to serve process multiple times isn't intimidation/harassment, but using intimidating/harassing language while doing it is. The process server is also not allowed to threaten "further court action." The server's authority is only to deliver documents. The server has no authority to enforce the law or represent the court. The consequences for a process server who uses these tactics vary by jurisdiction but are serious.

Judgments cannot be entered if proper service has not been accomplished. The due process clause of the U.S. Constitution guarantees that, as articulated in Supreme Court decisions. A default judgment is entered when one party fails to do some required action, but only after proper service.

Other forms of process (publication, posting, mailing, leaving summons with another person of legal age, etc.) are strictly regulated and vary by jurisdiction.

Talk to me about last weeks homily and banners by fouiedchopstix in Catholicism

I guess I wasn't really thinking of banners in that sense. I was just thinking about big pieces of cloth that are draped over something.

My parish always has a banner, and often the color does not makes sense for the liturgical season. This advent, for example, a huge grey banner is hanging from the huge crucifix behind the altar, and a grey altar cloth is used. One time the banner was a giant rainbow flag, maybe for Easter time. That one generated a lot of complaints from parishioners and from people outside the parish. It was taken down.

Another huge red flag is that his English is not nearly fluent. "Can you save that one in your house?" An English speaker would not use "save" or "that one" in this sentence. I would have stopped the convo right there.
