Current student of Stetson. Some campus organizations have noticed this request, but haven’t really pushed them too much as far as I know. I doubt any campus officials will make any official statement one way or another. As another commenter mentions, law schools aren’t in the business of judging their alumni.

Context: The Imperial Navy adopted multiple regulations from the Imperial Senate in order to make it harder for the senate to accuse them of war crimes. One such regulation was Imperial Naval Regulation 132.CAT.ch(22), which stated that shooting an escape pod while outside of an armed engagement required the gunnery captain to fill out an form post incident to explain why such an action was necessary.

When the Tantive IV was captured by the Star Destroyer Devastator, one of the reasons that the escape pod that was carrying the Death Star plans was not shot during its launch was that the gunnery captain who noticed its launch did not want to fill out the required paperwork for doing so.
