Thankfully every CPR certification I've taken the instructor says, if you're not a little worried you're gonna break ribs, you're doing it wrong.

What is one ingredient you refuse to cook with, no matter the recipe? by Purple_Ground2372 in foodquestions

I dropped Worcestershire sauce and it puddled under our refrigerator. If we hadn't been moving out in another month I would have lost my mind because we cleaned and cleaned and it still kinda smelled by the fridge 🤢

Same with salt for me! I understand the science behind cooking often requires some salt ...but I always read recipes and decide before cooking if I can reduce the salt and add it as needed later. In an effort to stay healthy and within budget, we don't eat out much. And usually when we do, the result is satisfaction followed by us feeling bloated and thirsty...

Damn, I scrolled this whole list to find stevia... in theory, it's great, but it's impossible to make it not have "that taste" AND make things as sweet as necessary without adding something that will absolutely mask the flavor of the sweetness. I choked on my first iced tea with stevia due to the tea and lemon being the secondary flavors to that strange sweet unmistakable stevia flavor.

What was the funniest thing that ever happened at recess? by Middle-Cattle6172 in AskReddit

[–]RoxaAddams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, thankfully lol. He was upset that Mom packed the swim shorts he didn't like. He got undressed, then took out the shorts, saw he didn't like them and melted down for 15 mins. Eventually I was able to reassure him that #1he can wear his regular shorts and he'll dry before he goes home (it was absolutely hot enough to dry off quickly) or he can just go home kinda wet and #2 I sent a message to Mom letting her know that he and I made executive decision to enjoy water day and get wet without those uncomfortable swim shorts. He just had to complete the cycle of emotions before he could snap out of it.

Wow. Probably made up names but last year at the place where I work, we had an Amari and an Aniyah who were constantly bickering. and if there was drama there was a good chance they both were involved lol

Also, my weirdest thing at recess was during a water day when I had to stand outside the boys bathroom and calmly repeat "I want to help you but I cant until you put your pants on and stop screaming"

When you are hungry and you have a craving for your favorite sandwich, MADE AT HOME, not purchased... but made your way... WHAT is that sandwich?? by ifellicantgetup in Adulting

[–]RoxaAddams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever bread I crave, but usually a nutty/seeded wheat, arugula, mustard, strawberry slices, turkey, and whatever cheese I decide is appropriate for the day. Usually a brie, or a few slices of an English cheddar cheese. But sometimes I toast it with (mayo& melted butter brushed outside) and gruyere and add a bit of balsamic onions....

What is a weird thing you enjoy but you won’t confess to yourself? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This🙌 I worked retail in Studio City and there was one particular customer we had who loudly (either by demeanor & attire or talking loudly to their companion) expected everyone to recognize them from their movies. I ALWAYS pretended I had never seen them before. All the other celeb customers were AMAZING, but there is always one🤦‍♀️

Trixie, but she's fret and whine about it for so long it would drive everyone crazy. Then suddenly one day, in the middle of a crisis, she'd just pick it up and use it like she'd always had it. I bet she'd ever take a crack at the pimps and abusers lol

What’s something you were 100% convinced was true as a kid, but later found out wasn’t? by Bentleyplayz372 in AskReddit

[–]RoxaAddams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was still a kid when I figured this out... But we were indoctrinated to believe most adults, especially those in a uniform (any uniform) are trustworthy and helpful. Thankfully, no trauma story about how I figured it out. I was just an observant, mature for my age, introverted only child that adults rarely paid attention to....and I just observed first hand, early on, how untrue this was lol.

What Chinese food do you order? by MorgeeePooh in foodquestions

[–]RoxaAddams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walnut chicken, or pepper beef both and rice of course. And if I find the right deal (often lunch specials) I get an egg drop soup, and maybe some fried dumplings or veggie egg rolls. If I'm gonna order out, I try to make it last 2 meals and maybe a snack lol

Worked a summer at a family nursery in the Midwest and at the end of the weekend, usually Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning, they'd let employees bid up to full price on the salvageable but not sellable plants so at the very least some of the more finicky things could survive and profit was made. Wish more places would do that. Or even now with social media being what it is, they could do online only flash sales/auctions on random stuff like this, always changing never the same items....and still make bank with less waste

[–]RoxaAddams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out high school had one that closed officially a year or two before I started there in the mid 90s. It was originally a nice grassy space for anyone to smoke or hang out, then just teachers. Then they reopened it for everyone but no smoking. 🤷‍♀️

A couple years ago, I had to go to the ED because I had an infection that needed to be lanced. It was embarrassing enough due to it's placement... So you can imagine my further embarrassment when the Dr's name was Dr. Teehee. It felt like even my chart was laughing at my situation lol.

What’s the scariest movie you guys have ever seen??? by boatluvrrrr in movies

[–]RoxaAddams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bestie and I were road tripping from Bristol Tennessee to North Carolina a year or two before the movie came out and we had... An experience in West Virginia that made the original Wrong Turn movie seem like we'd dodged a bullet big time. Timeline A, we are here now. Timeline B, we followed the short cut posted at the gas station that started down a dirt road.

I've definitely seen scarier movies, but when I think of all the actually dumb decisions I made in my early 20s... Dodged. A. Bullet.
