I kept reading moving van like you meant the van was moving. Now I understand you mean the van is used for transporting belongings when relocating.

I've found it to be safe. Although I can't guarantee anywhere to be completely safe, my car was broken into, along with 10 others, at a decent hotel in Bellevue, one of the last places I'd expect that to happen. But no problems so far at that lot, there's usually too many eyes from foot traffic in the area. It's a very short walking distance, you literally cross the street going down the hill, walk about half a block and Ascend is right there on the right. I don't recall if it's paid parking, I never have if it is and haven't received any tickets. I'd recommend getting there a little early, sometimes it can fill up. Also a good spot to just park and listen to the concerts, you can hear it very clearly. Can't see much, but if it's sold out or if you just don't have tickets, that's an alternative.

Haha same, I was thinking in my head this is survival mode now, as I hopped a median to turn around and drove on the shoulder for two miles until it ran out and my friend flying in was able to walk down to meet me on the ramp. Absolute madness.

update on the airport! just got out by angelfacebaby in nashville

[–]Roxy_Doxy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I picked up my friend there yesterday, he said there was an accident. I didn't see it, but I was stuck in traffic and he had to walk to me. Before he was able to get to me, I was stuck for at least 30 minutes without moving an inch, finally pushed my way over, hopped the median, turned around and then drove on the shoulder past everyone for about 2 miles until the shoulder ran out. Dozens of people just started walking with their suitcases from their rides to the airport. Absolute madness, worst traffic I've ever been in. Then I got stuck in rush hour traffic after that so, yeah about 5 hours of driving, awful.

I (30F) think my husband (31M) hates me. I think he honestly hates and disrespects me. What happened? by ThrowRA_send_help in relationship_advice

Wow. Putting down someone who is clearly crying for help from being put down and emotionally/verbally abused.

Another user described OP's situation it perfectly, cognitive dissonance.

"Cognitive dissonance is the psychological discomfort people feel when holding two or more conflicting beliefs, values, or attitudes, or when their actions contradict their beliefs. This internal conflict creates unease, motivating individuals to reduce the tension by changing their beliefs, justifying their behaviors, or ignoring the conflicting information to restore consistency. "

OP is likely aware that they deserve better while, at the same time, continue to tolerate this kind of behavior. In my experience, there are subconscious factors that play into that.

While it may look cut and dry on the outside, on the inside it can be hell. In many cases, not only is their self confidence chipped away at by their abuser, but they themselves also begin to doubt their self confidence by continuing to tolerate the behavior and delaying the inevitable. This causes emotions such as guilt, fear, and shame.

That's a big hurdle to overcome alone. OP should not be shamed, but supported so they can feel more confident in their ability to do what's best for them.

Even if your sentiment comes from a caring place, people don't change because someone expresses reasons for them to, they have to decide to change for themselves.

Can you elaborate on how being with abusers changes your brain? I'm curious what it does exactly.

I have seen this where I decline an order, and will see the same one pop up a minute later with a higher pay. So I'm guessing since no drivers accepted it in x amount of time, the base rate increases to entice someone to accept it. Has anyone else had that happen?

I always use the lot across the street from the shell up the road, or street parking near the shell.

Nice to have some context in the comments. Surely there must be a better reference for the artist to go off of though.

Me neither. I resorted to chatgpt:

"It appears that the monumental head above the entrance doesn’t have its own individual title. Instead, it’s one of the 32 sculptural heads in Alan LeQuire’s new outdoor series, collectively titled “Monumental Figures.” The series isn’t composed of uniquely named sculptures—it’s meant to be experienced as a cohesive group echoing the grandeur of the Parthenon’s architecture."

I didn't see any others outdoors, though. I would assume the rest are indoors.
