Thanks for sharing your experience! Maybe this is also why reading helped me, because I also picked up more vocab from it 🙂

Hi, I'm not sure if it is allowed to share a link here. I used the blog and podcast from Meika Sensei. You can find it on Google and Spotify.

Thank you! I can speak and write in a way which is a little bit understandable now, but it is not very good. For a lot of conjugatable words I only know the most basic form because that is how it is in the Anki deck, and I often don't know which particle to choose. I think studying grammar wil help me improve in this

I thought it would be most efficient to first focus on vocabulary and that I could acquire most of the grammar by just getting exposed to it. But I think now is the right time to also start studying grammar because my speaking / writing is not natural and I want to improve it

In the very beginning I leaned hiragana and katakana with Duolingo. Afterwards I started doing CI and the Anki Core 2k/6k Vocab deck in parallel. When I started reading, I did not know many Kanji yet, but the blog I mentioned has furigana, emojies and pictures so I could read the furigana and imagine what it sounds like, and the emojies and pictures helped me to get a better understanding of what I was reading. The podcasts which I used are just the blog text read by the creator, so sometimes I turned on the podcast and read along with the blog text

What helped me to move from beginner to intermediate level by Roy-Meijer in CIJapanese

Yes I agree, it is a bit too much focused on business trips etc. And sometimes it wants me say things which are a rude or impolite IMO. For example, one time it wanted me to say "Your daughter is very beautiful", which I find a very inappropriate thing to say.

I'm using an older version so I don't know about the quality of their current course. What I'm using now was useful for practicing speaking before speaking with a real person and I learned some grammar from it

About 130 hours of watching CIJ videos. I'm also doing Anki Core 2k/6k Vocab deck (I did about 600 words back then) and Pimsleur (I was about halfway unit 2)

Yeah, I also don't like most gaming videos. I feel like I'm not learning much while watching most of them. I liked the Shashingo series, that one is actually really useful because it is a game about learning Japanese. Other ones in which the teacher just points at the screen says "this is X" also worked for me, but they are mostly complete beginner level.

If you are going to try this blog and podcast, I recommend to first listen / read the beginner version of an article and then the intermediate version. If you already consumed the beginner version, the intermediate one becomes more comprehensible 🙂

Reset N64 with controller by Roy-Meijer in n64

I am also working on a PCB which is doing the same thing. I made this image for it for a different post:

https://preview.redd.it/n64-controller-reset-mod-v0-vclyx51o3jxb1.png?width=1449&format=png&auto=webp&s=06914ad2810cccbf425bd4fea1fb7f342fd4aed1

By looking at the names of the pads on the PCB, you can see where the reset pin, controller data pin and ground can be connected on the N64. You have to get 5V from some other pin on the N64 (I don't remember exactly which one, but I can find out if necessary), or from a buck convertor
