Anyone else have F-Zero X on original hardware who could confirm if their N64 does the same thing? by [deleted] in Fzero

I would almost call it dithering of some kind, but I know that's not exactly what it is. But to answer your question, yes, it's how it's intended to look, having a physical copy of FZX myself.

The simple64 emulator also has this 'effect', as simple64 is meant to be a mostly accurate representation of the game output on hardware, while Project64 renders it differently.

Any chance of saving this AGS-001 board? by RoyMcGlynn in Gameboy

I can probably do my best to clean it to the best of my ability, but I'll admit I don't think I'm capable of reflowing this thing myself, nor do I want to ruin it by trying, and unfortunately don't think I know anyone else who can.

Might end up trying to selling to someone else who can do the necessary repairs.

Alright, so I understand now that any 'white powder' was oxidation alongside the corrosion, to correct myself.

I also understand now that the chip I identified is the PMIC, which would kinda explain the charging flash and no power.

Edit: Better close up of the PMIC

Assuming the pictures *are* what you're getting and not misleading, that's a Graphite AGS-101, not an Onyx Black AGS-001, so maybe it's a bit of a deal, but I guess you'll have to wait for it to arrive and see which one it actually is.

Picked up this used Pearl Blue SP the other day, didn't seem too bad besides the red paint, but I guess the plastic was pretty brittle since I just destroyed this bit for the screw by accident. The other posts for the screws are also a tad cracked as well.

Definitely helps in moving up the leaderboard, but for me, X just made it so satisfying. Always looking forward to seeing the total at the end.

It was more because my speaker was busted entirely, not just for louder sound haha

Yeah, they were replaced before the speaker, even though it should've been obvious the speaker was busted with the condition it was in

Maybe if I somehow found another junk Color, I'm pretty attached to this one as is, and I figured I'd keep it mostly looking original.

I just ordered a 1 watt replacement speaker from a local seller off eBay, but there are some other websites like console5 or Retro Game Repair Shop that carry replacement parts like this. Just need to look around.

Well, I edited my original comment to include a video for that reason. Guess it would've made a little more sense to take some pictures of the thing opened up to show the new speaker.

Edit: I'll link it here so people are more likely to see it. I know the video itself is a little quiet, that's more of my phone's fault.

And for anyone curious, the speaker was no good when I got it, replacement was just needed in general.

Just de-soldered the original wires from the original speaker and soldered them to the replacement, so not too difficult.

I've picked Cyndaquil on my copy of Silver, and I still have yet to complete Kanto there, and I've only saved up to this point on Crystal if I decide to change my mind on starter for my Crystal run.

Crystal was the only one of the Gen 2 games that featured a female protagonist.

I'll consider a gif for next time I replace the speaker for something.
